The videos are short and small because they are done with my digital camera but this should hopefully prove to the naysayers that Danrylls car is indeed turboed and ready to dyno on Friday. Pics in the next post.

I hope I'm wrong!

:D

First off, 215 at the wheels? Are you kidding, that is Greddy territory. The car is right here, right now with our turbo kit on it and I will put up $500 in cash for anybody that wants to come down and have a little race with their Greddy turbo kit! Any takers? Our address is 10149 Prospect Ave. Santee, CA 92071.

To ease everyones minds, it is impossible to do anything like this since we use an unbiased dyno. The place we dyno our cars is called the Dyno Shop. Look them up on the internet http://www.dynoshop.com and then ask them if they will manipulate the dyno numbers for their customers!

Dont get too cocky. In exactly one year from now, if you can make the exact same bet, with the exact same car, (with the same engine in it), I will be impressed. Until then, I will remain a skeptic.

How did you safely tune his car, to ensure it wasn't running dangerously lean/hot, etc, prior to getting it on a dyno?

Thanks!

And how aren't you mealting the hood with the turbo so close to it, I see the heat sheild but that's still awfully close to the hood, along with other parts that Jeff Ambrams mentioned a while back, such as the coolant overflow tank?

PS: dyno sheets, time slips, and how much PSI are you running this with.

Wideband with a very conservative street tune.We actually used the same program that dynoed at 287WHP in this car but I needed to add alot of fuel becasue it was lean with that program.

The fact is that the offer is on the table and if you or anybody else think they can take my $500 then come on down.

BTW, our test car has been driven for over 10,000 miles and you know what? It is still in one piece. Not too shabby.

The pictures are a little deciveing. We have a good distance from the hood. Our test car has alot of miles on it and nothing has melted. Another thing to take into consideration is that the fans move alot of the hot air away so it is not as concentrated as you might think. We are running 8 psi at the present time.We might be able to run more boost but we will wiat and see what happens at 8 psi with this new turbo.

Actually it was 'me'. That comment was to address a point, being, apart from data, people will speculate. (shrug). I've rarely seen a project like this simply pan out to 'I don't have a digital camera' or 'I haven't dyno'd' the car. I think you are making your case for answering those concerns - the photos are great...

Now...the dyno...

Alright...I'm somewhat satisfied now...after waiting over a month for this. At least there's proof that it's done.

Car sounded incredible in the first video. By the way...it's too bad the guy riding his bicycle on the street in the first video didn't fall off or something. You guys should have tried throwing rocks.

Oh and the parking lot scene, priceless.

do you use ceramic coatings on the hot side of the turbo and exhaust components to help with the heat or just the heat shield and thermowrap?

Ceramic coating is an option.321SS is very good at keeping the heat in.The wrap helps out quite a bit too.We also supply some extra heat shielding for wrapping the oil metering pump,hoses,etc......

Awesome SFR. Can't wait to see what all the car can do.

As far as people thinking this and that about what you and your team has accomplished, the fact still remains that you all turboed a very difficult car to tune. You all FINISHED the kit. You all have DRIVEN, are DRIVING, and WILL DRIVE MORE miles in it. So what Greddy exists. It's a good kit. But you all took up a challenge to make a BETTER kit. Now go take someone's $500.

.... uh, can I get a discount for saying all that LOL.

Congrats Speed Force Racing!!! Definately looking at the kit.

To make a fair comparison between the two kits, you'd have to compare a GReddy kit with an additional $2000 invested, +/-.

Congrats SFR. Kit looks nice, and sounds pretty good from the vids. Lets see that dyno to shutout some of the negativity that seems to plague this forum.

You may not believe me, and a few of the other skeptics, but I really DO hope you (or somebody) becomes the FlyinMiata of the RX8 world. I hope RX8s can handle signifigant boost/power levels for years of reliable motoring. It would be wonderful if two years, and 50K miles from now, this guy's car is running like the day it left the assembly-line in terms of reliability and smoothness, etc.

Thus, don't take it personal when people ask for hard numbers and are not quick to jump on the bandwagon. There are a few asshats, yes, who simply want to flame anything which isn't their current favourite - but that goes on both sides (see the owner of this car's signature, for example).

I really do wish your product success in the marketplace, because after my car's warranty is expired, I may come looking for boost - and I would hope SOMEBODY's kit rises to the top.

Car sounded really good in the videos. Can't wait to see the dyno results, or any others where you guys do push closer to the 350whp mark.

:D

Unless there's a discounted price somewhere it's more than a $2k difference. Actually $4500 more (EMS is a must). Greddy $3k (220-240hp) , SSR $7499 (287hp)

Videos show nothing (flyby on a street and accelerating in the parking lot) at least we know what the BOV sounds like.
1/4mi times and dynosheets are a must if you intend to really get buyers.

It would be nice to have a kit that could make 300hp and not cost $7k. I hate to sound cheap after buying the car, but for an extra 7k on sticker I would have bought something a tad faster, like a used vette or something.
