The InterceptorX was designed with Nitrous add ons in mind. There are several customers out there that have dyno'd their NA RX8s with nitrous....

Let's see what you've got. Anyone?

It would be best to show before and after dyno runs.

according to scott, yes, and he says it does a better job at it than the e-manage......

I personally only know that the emanage ultimate is about 12 the price of the INT-X

The Int-X has a load-based timing MAP, so it can't adjust for an AUX channel like nitrous.
That said, most people running the Int-X use such incredibly conservative ignition timing, NO2-specific timing retard is probably not necessary until you get in to the 150-shot range.

The EMU has several inputs that can be used to drive the timing adjustment maps, so there are a couple of ways to do it there, depending on your setup.

yes the emanage seems to be the unit of choice for almost all nitrous installs... so i was just curious on the advantages of the other products

You want a list? There are already threads dedicated to that.

na ... i have read many of threads ... but i have never heard of a way to retard the timing with the Int -X for only when the nitrous was engaged... then hearing that people were running the Int - X for nitrous installs... i was curious if there was something i had missed...

Oh, I understand.
The Microtec might have an AUX channel available to act as a "retard" table, but it isn't active in the Int-X.
You could probably use the AIT input as a nitrous "sensor" and tie its table to the ignition since it is pretty useless for actual intake temp compensation.

The Interceptor-X does a very good job with nitrous. There are inputs on the face of the unit that can be used as a built in two step launch control or to use for N02. When the Interceptor-X "see's " a +12v signal from the N02 it will pull timing and add or remove fuel so actually you could run a dry shot if you were so inclined. There are also outputs on the face plate to make the nitrous active
based on RPM, Manifold pressure or a combination of both. Running a turbo with nitrous? Use a 50 shot to launch the car and tell the Interceptor-X to shut the nitrous off at say 12 psi, (my FD RX-7 is setup like this) It's all built in to the unit you must decide what you want and then tell it what to do.

Using nitrous on the dyno isn't a great idea. You are more prone to backfires and problems on the dyno. I remember there was a member on this forum who sprayed a 75 dry shot on the dyno and blew apart his UIM and hood into pieces.

^^^That **** right there is why i will never do it. I know the nitrous is working and the power is up just by feel, an exact number is not that important to me. Nonethless, seeing someone else do a successful nitrous dyno run is just fine and dandy with me. Interesting

I think you'll need a gigantic fan to blow into the front of your car on a dyno run from what I've heard, if not too much nitrous and fuel present in intake manifold+heat+spark = BOOMBALAKA~~!

Hell, the first time I ever sprayed my car, it was on the dyno. 100 dry shot, no tuning, and it did great. Most LS2's don't need any mods up to 100 dry or 150 wet.

Somebody needs to Man Up and get on the roller!!!!
Honestly, with the popularity of N2O on the 8, I'd want to see some numbers. I'd like to know how you'd do with a 75 shot against me N/A. I figure an 8 would have to put down 265 to be even.

LOL Dewwiittt!!!!
I about crapped when I heard the N2O kick in. The difference in the sound of the engine from the NA run was nuts, and it belched out black smoke when it was adjusting and richening up. All normal. Quite the rush.

You know you want to, Taj!!!
