We had low at 9 PSI if memory serves and at one point had the high up to 14 tapering down to 11 at redline (the EBC didn't have a seperate duty cycle setting, so I only had two functions Boost and Gain to play with).

Correct Kane.

Low boost- 9-10psi holding to redline
High boost- 14psi holding 11-12psi at redline

The turbo upgrade yes. The wastegate you need to hold boost which will make more power. The only other options is MM's wastegate upgrade which gregs has.

Your set-up seems to be holding boost well yet power output is still disappointing - did MM give you any idea for what to try next ?

Says the turbo is running out up top.

I'm not 100% convinced everything on my setup is as it should so still too early for any conclusions. Will be swapping out for a midpipe with no CAT and doing a once over on the install and then hitting the dyno again.

oh pdxhak, you're stilling running with a CAT? I'd be willing to bet that will increase your flow quite a bit!

I don't know if you recall back in Jan 09 when MM came for the Seattle day I had him tune my stock greddy turbo, at that time I was running the Racing Beat Exhaust with a clogged CAT and I was only able to get around 218-220 whp because of the CAT. As soon as I deleted it I was able to achieve 267whp.

I'm looking for someone to point me in the right direction, which is better the 50trim or the 60-1?

I'n doing this upgrade I'm also upgrading my fuel pump to the walbro255 and blue injectorsI'd like to get some feed back on which trim is better. Even though the 50 will spool up faster does that mean that it will fall on its face faster or at a lower RPM or has everyone else thats tried this upgrade gone the correct route using the 60-1? Any help is appreciated as my snail is at BNR and awaiting parts.

My 57trim is supposed to flow less than the 50trim and mine definitely has plenty in the top end .
The 50 trim is better because it will work better with the Greddy kit as supplied .
I believe the std kit requires modifications to get the best out of a 60-1 .

Good to go, have you heard of info yet on a better/proven IC upgrade to the one with the Greddy kit?

I am using this intercooler by CXRacing

It is 22"x8"x3.5" vs the 23"x7.5"x2.75" GReddy one so provides a decent increase in volume while fitting in the same location without issue and not blocking any more of the radiator.

I thought I posted this sooner guess not... I don't see on their website the flow rate for this IC, how much of a gain over the Greddy do the dimensions suggest?

Just an FYI Bryan called me today and said me turbo is done. I went with the 50 trim and soon as I get my engine back will see about getting this snail tuned and Dyno tested

Is it possible to get the internal wastegate upgraded with he BNR upgrade? I think I saw someone mention they were able to do this but I wasn't sure.

I'm looking to go with a 60 trim at the moment, unless someone can talk me out of it. I'll be running 2.5" piping, 1000cc injectors, with the intercooler irontanuki mentioned. Can you guys think of anything else I'd need to upgrade to run this setup (besides the wastegate)?

You don't need to upgrade the WG - the problem is keeping it closed - not making it flow more .
Do all that other stuff and you will be the 1st BNR ownwer to break 350whp . I would like to see someone modify the outlet tube as well - have a look at it when you get it . I'm sure a 2" silicone coupler could slide over the turbo outlet if the flange was cut off .....

I thought greggs hit 360?

Also my plan is to hit 380

If I remember correctly greggs was running out of fuel with 820cc injectors.

I figure with 1000cc and having about 15 more whp than most na's that go turbo I might be able to hit 380. That said allot of that power was from porting the APV valves which wont be utilized anymore... Hmmm...

I'll have another read through your wastegate thread. Does anyone know if Brian can upgrade the internal wastegate though?

Well, not quite.
As it turns out, making it flow more is worth a whole lot of power.

the upgrade to the internal waste gate you guys are talking about is just the porting of the bypass opening right.... kinda like the **** we used to do on the turbo-II's?
