http://home.cfl.rr.com/epitrochoid/rx8dyno.jpg obviously this turbo holds boost far deeper into the powerband, but if the ignition is rearing its ugly head, high RPM's will only make it worse. |

yup, it gives the rx8 200whp NA... but you need other bolt-on's too, like aftermarket intake, midpipe and exhaust, lighter flywheel, etc.

Weird - my car has 200whp w/ just intake and exhaust :) |

you wouldn't happen to have an afr (or lamda) graph would you? I just graphed my lamda in a 2nd gear pull and am trying to find people with both lamda graphs and dyno graphs so I can do some correlation! I'm fighting going to a dyno ;) but I will probably end up doing so in the spirit of contribution to progress. If no graph could you let us know which flash you are on? Thanks |

Thanks I'm probably close or more than 200 whp, mustang dyno's read low. I'm trying to get KY to set me up on his dynojet.. I was having trouble with traction control still staying on even though it was OFF... It was also 93F outside and 103F inside according to the dash of my car.. Read the thread if you want some more info.. Mine's all stock, still on the M flash. |
Having built and tuned numerous 1000WHP cars, I am having a hard time believing that you are making 300WHP at 5 psi of boost. This is roughly 26 horsepower per psi of boost pressure. It does not seem feasible.Especially when you consider that with 7 more psi you only made 348WHP which is roughly 7 WHP per psi of boost beyond what the orignal 5 psi of boost made.So the turbo goes from 26WHP to 7WHP per psi of boost? This is 1/4 of what it is making at 5 psi.Does anybody else see this?

we've seen the greddy make 300 hp with the interceptor ECU @ 7psi, but it chokes over 6500-7000 rpm, not enough air... |

So $6500 ish + installation and tuning + (I have a 4 port) 2nd oil cooler install (at the minimum) = too many $$$ (imo) |

I think your math is wrong. The interceptor is 1600, plus the hybrid GReddy kit ~5K. 6500. |

I did have a few issues that were working against me so yes Tim there is a diminishing returns issue. That said, once I substitute the components designed for ~6psi from the greddy kit and upgrade the stock ignition setup I expect better results. Thanks,Scott

Everyone here should think about that when posting to challenging posts. Have the "ingredients" been listed for the car that produced those graphs? |
I will get some #'s together A.S.A.P.. Also this will be a complete kit so you will NOT have to buy the Greedy kit and upgrade it. I have already performed extensive upgrades to various components of the Greddy and was less than happy with the results/dollar value. For those customers who would prefer not remove the front end and continue running the Greddy intercooler and uptube I can supply the duct work to adapt my turbo kit to that. Thanks again for your interest in my products,Scott

ONE VOTE FOR SCOTT FOR PRESIDENT!! Or at least Governor for Florida! :mdrmed:

So is the full kit going to have bigger piping and a larger intercooler? Also, is the full kit a retorfitted greddy kit or an all new kit that is designed after the greddy kit?
|
So...you replace the greddy emanage with an interceptor, and replace the turbo, intercooler, and some piping. Heh, what's left of the original kit?

From your impressive results.......your turbo is efficient under 5 psi and inefficient over 5psi? The turbo required for enough airflow at 7000-8000 rpms on a 1.3L rotary, with 10 to 1 compression, would be something along the lines of a T66. However, it is not efficient at 5 psi. I am just trying to figure this out is all. |
Can't wait to see the final price and some pics!
