Need some help with forced induction (loliknow)
So, this may be my first post, but I've been around here for awhile now as a guest, reading up and learning. But a big issue I'm facing right now is what I want to do with my car. I really like the RX-8 (though I've only spent about 10,000 miles on my '07, now sitting at about 20,000), and even though I shortly debated purchasing a new WRX instead, I think I want to stick with the 8.
Sp I'll be coming home from Iraq soon, and that means now would be a good time to place an order on a kit. I looked into the Greddy kit awhile ago, and I know the standard kit suffers from a couple issues, so I'm really leaning towards the MazdaManiac mod. I'm not sure if it's available or still offered, but I know he has the complete Greddy kit with his upgrade for $7000 on his site. As far as I know, he seems to be a pretty reliable name in the rotary world, but does anyone have experience with his kit? Is it a good choice? Because $7000 seems like a steal for all that's being offered. I don't plan on tracking it or anything, I'd just like around 300whp for some occasional spirited driving.
I know a decent amount about turbos, but I'm still learning, so on top of the kit, is there anything else I should look at installing along with it? I already plan to purchase the BHR ignition system, and I was going to go with the AP for EM anyways (even though it's included in the kit). But a big problem for me is tuning. I know MM has base turbo maps, but I don't know of anywhere to go in the Nashville area for a custom tune. Any help with that?
Didn't really mean to type all that, but any help would be appreciated.

I zoom therefore I am.
I was surprised to find out how many people have FI'd their 8 (SC and TC) and have never posted a thing about it. To some people having a good set up is reward enough and they don't get into the whole posting about it thing.

i like to post my projects to get instant feedback during install and as documentation. not necessarily to brag. I could see where people who have others do the install less interested in it though.

Because I believe that such moments and projects are the owner's story to tell and not mine/ours. If I discuss it, it is shameless bragging. If the customer is telling the story there are more facets to discuss and their perspective is what matters, not mine or ours.

So essentially, it's a good choice, it just has the issue of availability.
And would I be able to install it myself with moderate mechanical knowledge, or should I seek a professional install? I'd really like to do it myself, but if there's a pretty big margin of error, I'd rather not take any chances.

Im running the gt3071r........its badass and well put together I couldnt ask for more. I also have the accessport with the MM service however i posed a question maybe 3 times so i could make sure i was sending the proper information to MM and never got a real response...I know he doesnt like "hand holding" but i felt it was a simple question it related to non standard injectors and maf so my tuning service hasnt helped me much but the MM kit is really great no complaints.

Lol thanks charles that would make for a funny photoshop (MM report card)78. I dont blame him customer service inst the easiest people say "the customer is always right" well we know thats not true. There is a difference between hand holding and answering a simple question in less than five words i would get tired of hand holding also especially when he has put much of his knowledge already on the board. Ill shoot you a pm thanks for your help ill make it painless i swear.
