Mazsport's High Performance Transmission Upgrade!

After several months of testing we are proud to release a heavy duty alternative to the factory 6-speed transmission.

The transmission itself is a 5-speed unit based on components from various Mazda transmissions that have proven reliable in street, strip and road race applications. This transmission is capable of handling 450rwhp in our standard version, or with a few additional internal modifications can handle even higher power levels.

This was designed as a plug and play replacement for the 6-speed and is shipped complete with everything required for an easy installation. If you have the ability and tools to change a clutch you have what’s required to perform this conversion in about an additional 1-2 hours.

We have replaced the factory PPF with a new chromoly design, incorporated an additional chassis stiffener into the new transmission mount and maintained all factory functions as well. The shifter is in the original location, retains the factory boot and NO modifications to the interior are required.

Here is a link with more information on our website.

We appreciate your continued interest and support in our products for the RX-8, Scott

Very cool! The FI guys should be all over this.. Good call on giving the option on the 5th gear ratio.

I would still like to see an upgraded 6spd for us NA guys though..

wow i think i might have mentioned this before. a rx8 6 speed option for a new 5 / 6 gear ratio set would be a great thing.

allows the lower rpm on cruise without replacing the rear gear.

Scott:

This sounds awesome for the M/T guys, I know however, that quite a few A/T guys in places other than USA would love to see some conversion kit from A/T as well. Imagine if you paired this with the rest of items, PCM, ECU, Wiring Harness etc.

Just something to think about....

i would think the brace that replaces the ppf would have to weigh less than the ppf..

i was hoping..

Nice!! Congrats. That looks like a great addition for a Turbo RX8!

Are the ratios "geared" more towards a turbo street application with taller ratios.

Is it made to mate with the existing 4.44 final drive ratio or do you recommend a different rear end as well?

Also could you customize ratios for people depending on their desired applications

EG: drag strip vs. street vs. road racing?

And last question:
Will you be releasing a 6speed version for NA cars with upgraded internals for reliability improvements. For those of us finding ourselves burning out our synchros etc and just wanting a trans. that will be OEM swap and last longer?

Nice work Scott. As the earlier model years age, many will likely be looking for more reliable replacements.

Sum bitch!
Sweet and with the torque curve of my S.C. this would be really good.
Question please---i have that beatiful double resonated midpipe of yours and i had to make some spacers for my tunnel braces to fit . if that be the case then this would also bolt to the spacers? no probs?
