Scott doesn't release a product that isn't already tested.

Mazsport is having internet problems, so they can't report anything on here right now. We'll just have to wait.

Actually that particular car has sat there for a while now. It still isn't dyno tuned but it is street tuned. They are working on other cars right now including a couple of stage 3 kits. Those probably have a better shot at getting dyno'd first but that's not saying they will be and have the results posted. Who knows. Betsy just shouldn't jump the gun and post about a dyno before she's 100% sure it's going to happen!

As best I can tell, Mazsport is up to their ears in work. If they hit a lull, maybe you'll see some shiny numbers to draw in more customers, but right now they don't need to work on a dyno chart to bring in more business that they would have trouble handling. Maybe when they hire that mechanic they were looking for, it'll free up some time to get more development type work done.

And it's not that they haven't dynoed any kits. They just haven't put together a dyno they want to post. If a car has X number of non-mazsport parts when it comes in for a turbo kit and makes Y amount of horsepower, you wouldn't want to post that number as a representation of your kit. A stock car probably wouldn't hit Y.

Meh, I don't live in Florida but I did stay at a Holiday Inn in SC once.

Yeah ive seen the car personally when i was getting my car tuned and i agree it was awsome looking. I agree with all "the up to the ears in work" comment. I mean, we rarely hear too much from the mazsport guys here any more. There are people who want to push the limit but they keep finding the limits of the stock parts. As soon as one thing is fixed and they find time to work on it more then some other weakness is found in stock parts thus taking time.

guys dont get me wrong i love everything mazsport has done here on the boards and for the rx8 in general. but back in december they said they would have dyno on here soon.....its july. i want so desperatly to see them crack 400 at the wheels. and i think there waiting to post until they do that. but still dont leave me hanging you know.

i never try to put down, flame, or brag on here so if thats the way i came off i apologize. i love my car and it just upsets me when stuff doesnt go as planned. the 8 gets a bad rep because products are not released after R@D is completed.

just a little update is all im asking for

rick

If you want an update, you should call them. This is a company we are talking about and not just a forum poster. Other than Betsey and Scott, I don't know if anyone at the shop even comes on this forum.

Exclamation Posting numbers is advertising

Yes I understand that they aren't people playing around in forums but if someone is going to goto thier shop and drop $10k on a turbo it would be nice to know that it has been tested and see a finished product with the performance results. Posting on here is free advertising and would make more of us feel better about going to thier garage.

I don't know about the rest of you but I may be able to come up with $10k if I'm saving for it but I'm not some rich kid or guy that doesn't give a crap about that much money and wouldn't care if it was $20k. that I was pissing away on my car.

If I'm spending $10k it better make my car faster than a stock cobra mustang or I might as well say good bye to my rx-8 sell it and buy something that won't need to be rebuilt from the ground up just to keep up with other $30k cars. $32,000 + $10,000 = $42,000 and it better be fatser than a $22k civic si with a turbo that only costs $4,500. I think with prices being as high as they are on Mazsports kits they need be putting up some real nice numbers.

They already have more turbo installs than they can handle so I don't think not posting any numbers is hurting them. Especially when there are already many cars using their kits. Most of them just don't post here. They do put up some nice numbers. Better than anyone else I've seen.

I do agree with this as well. If Im gonna dump that much into my car, I would much rather go drop the money on a M3.

Full-Race makes some of the best manifolds, make great power, well known and respected and their kits are $3000 less. I know R&D, tuning etc. costs money, but I think Mazsport would get more customers from Greddy if the kits were close in price.

I think what he was trying to get at is justification for the cost of the kit itself. I do see his point considering the prices are up in the range of Dinan, even that said with Dinan parts you still keep your warranty.

apples and oranges...

the kit is the kit. it is complete.. really complete...

if dinan wants to jump in here then fine.. still right now it is the only complete turbo kit out there...
