I read the first two pages and see nothing of the grounding kit. I think he wants to know if it will help this ignition kit to be better or if you guys think it is a required item with this kit. I don't know if you were referring to "use the search option" but I would also like to know what this grounding kit does, is the car not grounded very well or what? Should I take my question elsewhere?

Will this void my warranty? Also, are those dyno results from stock, and are they for real? My 8 is stock, and I was curious if this would be a worthwhile mod, since none of the other $600 mods do much of anything, and that graph looks like it helps considerably more than an intake or exhaust...

It will void your warranty but you can always swap in the OEM setup before bringing it back to the dealer for warranty work

It can only void your warranty IF THEY CAN prove that it was the Ignition Solution that caused the defect to happen. The onus lies on Mazda to prove that not on you.....

^^^Exactly, if Mazda as much as spots a sticker anywhere around your car that even implies you have something aftermarket on it, they will try to blame the defect on it, no matter what it is. Even though they may "know" its not the cause they will TRY to get away with blaming it, and then you are stuck going through an ongoing argument that can last weeks, even months. All the time they KNOW you are right but figure what the hell, might as well see how far you will go before they cave in and give you your deserved service....crooks.

oops, kinda got off topic, sry ya'll

You want to try to argue the point an engine blowing can't be the result of an ignition system issue? Good luck...

I guess, but telling him that it Voids the warranty is providing him with misinformation.

There is nothing about the Ignition Solution that would void your warranty it is just a cop out SOME dealerships will use not to do work on your car if any problems happen to arise in the future. There are laws in place where the Dealer & Mazda have to prove that it was your after market part that caused the problem on your car. That being said why provide your dealer with any chance to try and screw you over. I think if you worded it more accurately, Invasion, it would have made sense. But I do get what you are trying to say.

So All In All:
1. This product will not void your warranty
2. Dealerships are Lazy
3. If Mazda fixed this problem originally we wouldn't have to go through this
4. Buy it
5. Good Game

I never said don't remove it before you go to get your car checked out for problems I was just stating that saying it will void your warranty with no further explaination will deter people who want the product but are scared of the dealers.

I am saying if the Regional District Service Manager says they will not fix your car under warranty due to modification then you are screwed. According to Mazda NA there decision is final.

Helps more than intake and exhaust?

I got 18.5 more rwhp from a K&N drop in filter and catless 3" exhaust... 5 was from the K & N.

The ignition is not going to give you 18 more hp, I could see possibley 5-10 depending on your current coils. You must have been looking at the smaller diameter exhausts with no high flow cat or catless mid-pipe.

I'm not willing to chance it with the warranty. I'll just save up and maybe get this when my warranty runs out. There's light at the end of the tunnel, and the tunnel is only 2 years.. Hopefully by then i'll be able to afford a turbo.. and this.. Hey, I can dream, right?

The K&N drop in did a considerable amount. People that say the K&N is a waste have no clue. My car's bottom end feels loads better since I installed that.

My car wasn't dyno'ed before the coil swap on this motor. I know a lot of people don't trust butt dyno's, but I honestly can feel the difference.

My car was dynoed about 11 months ago, on the old motor, with just my Umnitza intake. I made 180-rwhp and I can't remember the torque.

For comparison, there was a completely stock RX-8 that dyno'ed 177-rwhp and one that had the K&N intake, a race pipe, catback, new plugs, wires, and new OEM coils that did 184-rwhp. I did 202-rwhp on the same dyno on the same day and within an hour of the 184-rwhp run, and I have a stock cat still.

The power effect of this system is somewhat related to the fact that it can lean the WOT A/F ratio due to the cleaner burn. Scott has said as much. I wonder if the PCM will adjust LTFT to compensate and tune out the gains?
