Ok my scanner is being a pain int he ****, so heres a picture of it.

On the interstate ont he way there I did some 4th gear pulls and found the car running super rich. So on the first run I tried a completely new maf setting(halfway between what I've been running and Stock). As you can see, that didnt work it went way lean and he let off.

So the 2nd and 3rd runs I went back to the tune I drove there on. Crazy rich, but good enoguh to see how things look. Unfortunately he couldnt log boost. 2nd run had my boost controller set for 10% duty cycle giving about 7.5psi peak. We saw the car was pig rich and figured, lets give it more air! 3rd run was at 75% duty cycle, peaked at 11.5psi. This is with my WG set at 6.5psi and the WG cracking pressure in the BC also set at 6.5.

Are you sure about the tc?

If it is left on you usually don't make it past 30 MPH without serious problems.

Yea, the car was turned off several times through the process and I forgot to pull the fuse. Unless the Dyno guy knew to hold the button for 10 seconds for each pull, but he said it was the first Rx8 he'd done.
When I went to leave the place my ABS light was on and I thought nothing of it. It went out once I got on the road.

Wow - the fact you got whole pull is amazing.... the one time I left it on the car was jumping all over the place and the throttle closed on me.... I was NOT going to get it past 30.

LOL Thats what I get for rushing. I'm suprised the brakes aren't glowing in the videos.

Ahhh well, I'll make a real effort to get my Maf right and go back in a few weeks. I've got a couple of days off next week to go do some logging if the weather cooperates.

Thanks I welded it all with a crappy little 120amp mig using stainless wire and 75/25 Argon/CO2 mix. The welds are not pretty... lol
This setup is ment to be my prototype. My hope is to get a good TIG welder at some point and redo the whole setup making improvements and corrections based on what I've learned.

You know, initially I was disappointed with my numbers. But the more I look at that chart, the more encouraged I am. Even with my crappy tune(and traction control on?) I made more power than a greddy kit. And if you look at my power curve, it didnt peak and fall off a cliff. If I get my WG and BC tuned right to get up to full boost sooner I should have one hell of a Powerband.

Looking in the Dynos thread, my curve compares pretty well to the SFR kit, even tuned as it is. And I built my setup for half the cost of the SFR.

Those are good numbers considering the boost and circumstances. Quick kind of random question but im just trying to feed of some of your info for when i do my STS build. Can you run a blow through setup and use the AP to tune or would you need some other EM?

Supposedly it will work just fine blow through, though noone here has actually done it that I am aware of.

I garantee you that the dyno operator turned off the traction control for each pull - They soon realise something is up when they start to accelerate .

And yeah you should be happy with your numbers - very few people get over 300whp on their very first time at the dyno .

I have seen one setup that was a blowthrough but i was unsure of what EM he was using. Thanks for the extra help and im sure once i start my setup i will be PM'ing you alot. And i will be trying out the blowthrough setup as every other car i have built a kit for has also been a blowthrough with no problems.

Look forward to seeing the things to come with your setup

Small update. Been working on the tune with some help from Kane and his Baseline program. Huge Thanks to Kane for all his advice and support!
I've at least got the higher load working pretty well. Car holds pretty steady in the lower 11s under boost now instead of bottoming out my guage(10.1). Still seeing around 400g/s in my logs and baseline doesnt think my scale is that far off anymore. Still lots of work to do, but progress is being made

I think this weekend I'm going to relocate my OBD connector to my ashtray. Tired of reaching under the dash to feel for it and the AP cable laying on my leg while I'm collecting logs

What kind of Load are you seeing now? the news just keeps getting better, if you can document how you will relocate the obd connector, it is a PITA to reach under the car

Still seeing 190-200% load (This is at 12psi).

There was a walkthrough somewhere in the DIY where someone did the relocation. I'm just going to solder extensions into the harness and cut properly shaped hole behind the ashtray for the stock connector to pop into. Then if I ever go back to stock I can put the connector back and put the ashtray back in to cover the hole.
