Agreed swoope. I've had my axial flow short shifter for 5 years and I still love it. Right up there with sway bars as the cheapest feel good mod there is...

Uhhh. Kits were made and bought. Hymee is still capable of making them, but pretty sure it is a by order job.

My kit has been running for over a year now producing 200kw at the rear wheels. Due for another tune soon and expect to see around 220kw at 12psi.

The kit fits well however minor adjustments may be required to some of the fittings depending on the vehicle. My kit was part of an early release so it had some oil leak issues however the upgraged kit included a sealed oiling system. Mine still runs the engine oil for cooling. I use HKS FCon for tuning as my tuner was familiar with the system.

When I step on the accelerator the power is available straight away and goes all the way to the buzzer....just like stock. I have covered close to 10 000km with the kit which included a track day within a week of being installed.

I hope to see results from some of the other kits being installed as I believe there is a lot more potential in this kit.

thatz good to hear... so is it kinda safe to say that hymee is still in operation despite the comments about others paying but not getting their hymee's shipped to them?

I think everyone got kits delivered and a few are in the process of being installed. Danny, of Automotive Plus in Brisbane was the first to have the kit running however, had issues with the tune. He ended up with a blown engine after pushing the car hard at the track. He intends to work on resolving some of the minor issues with the kit before putting it back onto his car. My only issue is an occassional sticky bypass valve and failure to hold idle when decelerating. However a light tap of the accelerator on decel resolves the problem. Danny is planning a fix for this issue.

Danny is still busy however he is keen to get his track MX5 ready soon.

My car will be 10yrs old this October on its original engine.I just hope I get some good use out of my current set up and then rebuild in the future with stronger internals and possibly higher boost levels.

whenever anyone hypes up a new product before it is actually out you are always better to turn around and run ...

All new kits will have some minor teething issues. If the vendor is still around these gets sorted over progressive production runs.

The Hymee kit had a lot of promise however, it took a long time to get to the market and ended up taking a personal toll on the manufacturer. It still is a good kit after all the minor issues have been resolved.

I mostly agree with Team on that topic but disagree with this one, I sympathize with the guy because it was just one mans dream and he was proud of what he built. And he made it public because he wanted to make the best kit possible.

Little different than a big company over-hyping and upcoming product.

A lot of people learn the hard way that the little guy often can't follow thru like the big company with deep pockets, quite a few of them on this forum even ... hopes, dreams, and enthusiasm don't pay the bills

We should start a memorial thread to all the vendors that have tried and failed to provide FI kits to the RX8 community ....
Might make for a sobering read for anyone else tempted to dip their toe in ..... for both the vendors and the wide eyed potential customers .
