Be interesting to see how it fits in the chassis, I'm scratching my head at fitting a 5-runner manifold in the racer to do the same, and we've got more room.

You're gonna have fun!

Mazdatrix build one-- added turbo for drifting. Right at the 360 to the wheel range. Some problems with it running hot? Turned it into a water pumper. Look at their header--its nice. They also had to do a passenger side MM mod.
If I was going to do this i would also install the low compression rotors?

Yes. We got the idea from Dave Lemon after he allowed us to use his shop to build a new car from scrath for the Long Beach GP race earlier this year. Dave graciously allowed us to use his shop and various fabricating supplies, we received an extensive shop tour and he and I talked at length about several Renesis issues (including side seal spring failure).

Kyle Mohan is a great dude and we got a tour of his wicked drifting car in addition to a crazzzzzzy super light weight RX-8 they are building. I have no doubt it should be the lightest track car built ever. Kyle has lots of pics and video on Facebook and is a great supporter of Mazda and the RX-8. I'm sure if you were to friend him you'll have access to a bunch of great media and some very cool videos. Kyle is also one of the best guys to watch as he ofter touches walls while drifting and he must own a zillion rear wings because I've seen him touch walls and wack his rear wing end plates more that once during the same drift competition. Very cool stuff.

All the cats are out of all the bags now

I still think pulling the Renesis exhaust inserts and replacing them with custom solid inserts to create a Renesis intake/13B exhaust hybrid is the way to go ... but I suppose that can be another test for another day ....

I saw this motor at Mazdatrix when I was there about four months ago. Looked pretty trick! The five exhaust runner header was a hoot. They said it ran well and that the super high exhaust flow helped exhaust heat management with the turbocharged motor.

Are you doing an NA version of this?

I know that a side port intake combined with the periferal port intake does not work well but apparently this is not true for the exhaust.

Keep us posted!

That's what we're on with, just going to use a small periph. exh to keep the overlap relatively low and see how she goes.
