Greddy turbo ruffness

Hey everyone I just got finished installing the Greddy kit on my car this week and it's really got some crazy problems now. It was running fine for about a week and now it's not sounding or running good at all. I've already removed the Dongle and the problems are still there. When I started the engine and left it running for a few mins the third spark plug on the front of the engine started to smoke. Any idea what this could mean? I was thinking that it was fried. When I go down the road sometimes it runs good and sometimes it stalls mid gear around 4000 rpms and will not rev any higher. The car jumps alot when it's accelerating too. It doesnt have a smooth rpm range. I dont know what's wrong with it. I was planning on getting it dyno tuned soon. It's also making crazy noises that Ive never heard before. Any info on what to do and what's wrong would be great.

Thanks,
Jamie

wow... i was about to purchase the kit next week but there seems to be more and more problems. did you install it yourself or did you have a shop do it?

anywho, it doesnt sound like your plugs are firing correctly. it could be really unsafe to drive.. id take it to a shop right away.

I installed it myself with no problems at first and now i think one of my plugs is fried. I just removed it and it smells burnt. I'm on my way to the mazda place now.

I took it out to mazda, they told me that it's an ignition coil and they are going to just give me a replacement so they say, but the service department is closed already.

they dont need to know that I have a turbo. They wont even see my car. They owe me big time for messing up my back bumper and then trying to cover it up.

Does anyone know what could've caused the coil to go bad?

Thanks,
Jamie

Could just be a defective coil. Probably has nothing to do with your turbo kit. And the coil would still be under warranty. Installing the turbo will only void the warranty on directly effected items that can be proven to be damaged as a direct result of the modification. I.E.-a broken apex seal as a result of detonation.

BTW it doesn't hurt to try the dealer. Remember that all the techs and advisors are paid comission. They really don't care if it's not covered, they want the work. Some are more concerned about being right, but most just want the work.

You installed it yourself but dont know the difference between a spark plug and a coil? I would be getting someone to check your installation if i were you.

It was just a mistake on my part. I didn't realize which part was smoking until I started to take it off. I'm not sure if I'd really trust anyone else around here to be putting anything on my car. Everyone I've ever talked to about doing anything to my car has never seen a Renesis Engine before little less worked on one.
