omg I can't take it... I'm going through total withdraw. I need my eight back. Bryan won't even have the snail until Monday at the earliest... 10 or so days on the bench... then back to KDR... and Dave's been swamped.

If I don't have my car back by xmas I'm going to cry like a little girl.

Or parking it for 27 months over two deployments and another 8 months for various TDY missions.

I bought mine new in Jan 2007 (turboed in March 2007), and have a whopping 11,000 miles on it to this day.

I can't compete with you guys. I'm just a spoiled 30, almost 40, year old man with nothing better to do. If you need someone to redline your eights while you're out protecting our interests, just say the word!

So while we got parking and turbos in the same thread... I put about 500miles on my car with the turbo and fresh royal purple 10w30 oil... after sitting for about 4 to 5 months while the snow is here you guys think I'll need to change the oil before I start the car again or will it be fine? I dont normaly change the oil before starting it in the spring again (I usually do within the first few 100kms though) but this is the first time it's been parked with the turbo...

Bryan'll call me once he has the turbo in hand. We'll work through exactly what gets swapped then. I'm leaning towards the smaller wheel but if it's something that's going to take a while to procure I'll probably just go with the -1 fan blade and bored out inlet, as well as his other mods (water cooled, better bearing, etc).

Prepare for fabrication if you plan on just getting a Greddy T67-25G. It's made for external wastegates.

TD06 hot side. will just be using a TD06H 25G CHRA and using the GReddy turbine housing. Will have to get a new compressor cover however to fit the new wheel since its bigger than a 60-1

And brett, the 20g is doing fine, but is just barely larger than the stock 18g and I didn't feel too confident on the work I did on the compressor housing to make it fit. I figure if I'm going to get a new cold side housing, I might as well get a 25g chra and a 25g housing

IDK man . It seems that bigger is not always better with a greddy based kit . The BNR (60-1) guys are really struggling to make good numbers and it just seems to me that if you aren't going to make the numbers up top , why sacrifice the low rpm spoolup ?
I would go with the T04e 50Trim .

Comfortable 300-310whp with a very quick spool up from low rpm - perfect for a street car .

You are 100% correct .
People are only now just realising this and the results will come - but it has taken 18 months of poor results for it to sink in .

It's been frustrating for me watching all this after being widely criticised for doing it the"wrong way" and succeeding while seeing many people try to do it the "right way" and fail .

I think you are misreading the posts above you.

No one is advocating your method. The turbo needs a bigger wastegate actuator.

No one that has done it the right way has failed.

Failed is the wrong word I guess .

BNR 2 yrs in the market . Expected whp 350-400 . best seen so far 290ish ?

How would you sum up those results ?

I don't know. Nothing about the BNR's "failure" has anything to do with the wastegate adjustment that you advocate.
It is a combination of an undersized compressor and and undersized actuator.

Forcing a turbo into the choke line is not a boost control strategy.
