It's not too small ...

Or to be more precise ....... it isn't too small at the whp levels we are at .

Hey Brettus, do u think this oil & water cooled TD06-18G CHRA would fit into the greddy turbo without modification so would be able to use the coolant running through the TB to supply it?

It should fit fine, if not it is nothing some machining could not fix. But you may have issues routing the water lines as the inside one will be very careful to the engine/manifold. Is your turbo really destroyed?

thanks 9k, i dont have the turbo kit just yet. Im in the process of receiving it. Owner of the kit is having the CHRA rebuilt. Im just waiting for it to arrive. Ive just been do some research and it seems a water cooled turbo lasts 30% longer than an oil cooled turbo. so i came accross this CHRA for a pretty reasonable price

Don't get the 18g - get the 20g and PM Shadycrew because he did exactly what you are proposing .

Just a bump to remind people to connect the line from the oil filler to a catch can and then back to intake post maf .
It will eventually stuff up your tune as your turbo starts to leak air into the engine if you allow the air to vent to atmosphere.

Only talking about maf tuned cars here not map tuned.

So why would it's stuff up the tune?

Excessive air passed the turbo through the crankcase and out to atmosphere is akin to a boost leak . IE it got measured by the maf as flow but didn't make it to the intake manifold to get mixed with fuel .

It really isn't that big of a deal , just causes it to run a little richer under boost/part throttle .
