Looks like it only has two settings, like the Apexi or Tru-Boost, so the Profec is better. Unless I am reading it wrong.

If you really want the best control from an electronic controller you need one that is rpm adjustable . I had that for a while with my Powermod piggyback ECU. It worked great .

The factory MS6 one is great.....

Barring that, the ProfecII does fine, and the price is hard to beat.

While were on the topic of boost controllers I have a question. Im doing research on FI and I see a lot of debate between Electronic boost controllers and manual boost controller? And would like to know the difference between the two? Why is one better than the other and why? Sorry im trying to learn here.

well it comes down to what you feel comfortable with. Manual will only leave you with one setting option unless you have something like the hallman which you can get some kind of **** thing in the cockpit

On my WRX I had the Hallman, they say it holds boost better than a electronic one, this true? Boost controller controls the wastegate arm as well?

the bc controls when the wastegate activates. a manual one will very very rarely fail bc once its set its set. with an eletric bc you are running the chances of electronic failure (for what ever reason).

Such tends to be the way with any FI .

From the sudden interest I suspect you have FI in your sights 9K ?

that is correct. a wastegate can be simply controlled via spring and set at a psi level. the boost controller will change the level of psi used to open the wastegate. a spring will only be set at whatever the spring is designed for. you dont want to have boost spikes or creep due to a faulty spring... that would be no good

I was flipping through the March 11 modified mag and came across an article where they tested the new synapse DV. this synchronic DV seems to be small and super efficiant. I was curious if any of you guys have heard anything regarding it. Seems like the flow design would be a great alternative to a BOV (even better than the synapse BOV on recirc) which is awesome for the greddy kit

here is a glance at what it looks like....

.... thoughts?

If it's flange is the same size as their "legacy" BOV I'm temped to try it. I've yet to procure a recirc fitting for mine.
