Great write up with pictures and visual descriptions MM...
I've been dealing with a mysterious problem that I've been trying to diagnose for a while now. I've narrowed it down to the fuel pump and after reading up on this thread I wonder if this is the problem I'm experiencing. Symptoms are after long highway drive, I seemingly lose throttle and sometimes the car won't even start. But after an hour or more of sitting, it will fire up and run like normal until the next time it decides to fail on me again (no CEL codes).
I was planning on ordering a 09 pump, but seems like this may be the better route (and cheaper). Though I was curious, being that I'm not using any type of force induction, will the added fuel flow increase pressure in the fuel rails to a point where I'll be running in a rich state or is the FPR able to compensate for the added pressure?
Thanks in advance!

Power!!
What is the part number on the Walbro fuel pump that fits our assembly? Summit also has a bunch of 255l hp in tank fuel pumps.
I'm definitely up for this since I just started getting really bad fuel starve 2 weeks ago at an autox event and need to fix it before I'll race again.
Here are the various in-tank electric 255L fuel pumps from Summit Racing.com

^Do you know the secret model number of said pump?
This is the best I've found and I'm 99% sure it's the right pump and it's from a reputable site: http://www.maperformance.com/walbro-...o-wrx-sti.html

How's about this; I am saying that we will probably be "testing and proving" a few of these proposed solutions offered by my contemporaries over the next several days and let you guys know how it all works out.
Aside from that, I am a Walbro dealer but we all know that Walbro pumps suck, don't we?

Brettus didn't you read this?
It should remind you of the word "test"indeed, doesn't it sound good? i know we aren't used to tests but seriously i wouldn't like a crappy pump to stop pushing fuel after a replacement because the seller didn't sell me the best item available
Let's be patient, you (and i) all lived with the stock pump for a while so why should you be all in a hurry? I trust Charles, Jeff, Todd and Erick.. just giv'em the right time!
In the end they never let us down with products and tests, always backing up their opinions in a good way. I'm sure that the wait will be worth it!
