Fuel Pump Solution - All Failure Modes
So, does that mean we can expect another fuel pump solution offering from BHR in the future? Not in any rush, just need something in the relatively near future. Thanks BHR.

I had problems with a second OEM pump in Florida a year and a half ago. I wanted something more reliable and installed a Walbro pump, sourced from BHR. I haven't had any problems since.

My son started home brewing. His stash plus mine means there is a lot more beer around here than that.
Very nice Indeed, a modd that must be done in my case, I just bought a good used fuel pump assembly with a good "Nipple" =D since mine was broken, for $85 shipped, we're just having trouble removing the Round lock cap without the "Special Service Tool" ..... Any suggestions?

Could you take some good pics when you're on to it?
dude this is what worked for me
spray the thing well with wd 40 etc and be sure to include the little holes on top of the ring. Let it soak a little
then take a very DULL chisel--with a very wide head ( tip of the thing should be at least a 1/4 thick- you dont want to cut--then take a small/medium sized rubber hammer--rubber hammer nothing else --then start beating on the thing. No big hard swings--just many medium taps--think how an impact wrench does. Vary the points that you beat. Sooner or later it will come loose.
You may break one or two of the little fins , but that is ok.
Its worth a try if the tool couldnt do it?

Niiice, thanks guys! I was gonna put Lock Tite on it when re-installed for a sure seal.. And what about the Rubber O rings that are in there, I was thinking about using grey RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizer) as a reaplacement O ring to get a sure leak free seal.. Juss kiddin abou the Lock Tite by the way..
Is it # 18 or # 17 ? I'm confused... I am saving that Web site! $1200 for a replacement gas tank lol yeah right!
Is the plastic threaded ring part number 17 or 18 ? ?
I got this coming from Ebay that is gonna go in my tank after the little melting modd..

Is there any release schedule in mind for the new BHR fuel pump assembly? Like end of year?
I plan to swap out mine soon, as mine starting to have issue when start cold and starve when going up hill....

Great thread. Just got done reading the whole thing. Thanks all for the info.
My original fuel pump lasted until about 110,000 miles. The first replacement OE pump died in about 4000miles but the dealer was nice enough to replace it as defective for free. The third one (156,000 miles) has now begun crapping out on long distance cruises. Had to pull over and let it rest a few minutes twice today.
Any time frame on a complete BHR or should I just get the motor on the website and fit it myself?

Has anyone REMOVED the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator from the OEM Fuel Rail ? ? I wonder if it restricts any fuel flow at all without the stock ECU... Been looking at aftermarket Fuel Rails but they do not fit stock injectors so I would like to keep the stock Fuel Rail but maybe eliminate the stock FPR...
