The only FD project I saw with a 2JZ didnt have a hood or a lot of other stuff, just basically an engine with tranny. They couldnt make a hood fit, or have power steering or A/C. And if you are going to drop that coin on a 8 with that engine, I shudden to think what you could do with a real classic like a FD

Are the even any 1000hp vettes? I figure there are but i dont know of any. The guy wants 1000hp so why not go with the engine that is known to hit that mark. So again i say 2jz was a good choice all the way.
line a 700hp LS2 Vette up with a "1000hp" supra and sit back and watch the pooprah get its *** kicked...

There is a reason Supra's are known as dyno queens - as the 1000 hp comes at the expense of tremendous turbo tag.. as the saying goes "whats similar between a 700hp supra and a 1000 hp supra - they are both 10 sec cars"

if you're gonna spend all that money, why not use the GM 4.2 inline 6 from the trailblazer? 500+ whp on pump gas, 30 mpg! hard to argue with that.

our Rx8 with 20b can beat easy your project with supra engined rx8 we can reach easy 1500+ Rwhp with just turn the boost controller to 30 PSI of boost . Make real your project and post then wa are taking of word fasters Rotary engine that's beat the supra engine. why you no buy a Supra instead waste money in taht conversion. to put a supra engine to run over 1000 hp youre need a lot of money maybe a triple of money invested rathen that our project. we no need switch to other engine maker to put our RX8 Faster we keeping MAZDA!!!!!

I neglected to think about the monsterous lag. If he is all about show and what not then i still think the 2jz is a good choice. Everyone is shouting dyno queen but really thats the point of this project, so i think he is getting the job done. haha If he wants to race then thats a different story really. Does anyone think the LS engine would fit, not to mention all the turbo accessories. I mean... we have a hard time fitting the greddy turbo next to the renesis...

I would take Rgonza's 3 rotor RX8 over your RX8 Supra any day. At least his car still has the essence of the RX8 which is the rotary engine.

Lets see if I have this right...

Turbo
NOS
424 HP

....the list goes on and on and on.

When is enough enough?

Anyway, good luck!

PS: Could you post your dyno and/or timeslip's?
I didn't see one on your vBGarage...

just wait until you say the madness of the engine, and plus i wouldnt want to deal with the complication of the 20B motor, and when it comes to money, i dont care, i want something that nobody has and it will get more attention than your 20B motor

Oh yes I'm jealous of a piece of **** bastardized rx8.

I'm also jealous of a car that wont be able to get traction, will handle like *** due to too much torque and power for the chassis/dynamics of the car, and a completely ruined sports car! You are taking something pure and wonderful, a great handling/light rotary vehicle, and putting a high power/torque piston engine into it that will screw up all the planning and tuning that went into the car.

Yep I'm jealous of you, because you are ruining the car and turning it into crap. Man I wish I could do that...

And by the way, ever heard about combining your thoughts into ONE post? You quoted my post twice with two different points, why? Plus it was within 1 minute. Maybe you forgot the first time so you decided to add something, oh wait that's what the EDIT button is for.

You are crazy to start the craziest project but if you can do it without messing up the weight distribution too much, its not bad.

"Weight distribution" and "handling" are the only real arguments I see coming from the naysayers in this thread. What about the fact that he will have at least a 500HP+ RX-8? It would be one hell of a sleeper to pull up next to. But the fact is not everyone likes the RX-8 for its handling and 50/50 balance, some like the way it looks and its styling, and thats really about it. I agree dropping in a non-rotary engine totally kills the point of buying an RX-8, but who here wouldn't be tickled to death of having a 500HP RX-8 parked in their garage?

I'm more surprised at how you can say one thing about a swap you're going to do and you can turn 40 year olds into children. I commend you on your ability to make fools out of every single person that has responded negatively to your aspirations.

Do you realize how idiotic you ******** look? Why do you think that it is the tendency of an RX-8 owner/future RX-8 owner to "Lurk" here for months on end before actually posting - it's because you have 15 immature adults gangbanging someone that they're jealous over.

If you take this to completion I think that it will be a unique automobile, and will fit YOUR purposes, not the ideals of those who are hating on you. I myself would spend the money on my house, but to each their own.

I wouldn't be, but I'm not the majority.

If all you care about is 500+ hp, get a 20B or buy a different car. At least that's my point of view.

here ya' go:

good luck getting this sound with a 2jz though lol

http://www.1320hp.com/video/

and yes there are loads of vettes running around at or above 1000hp, not to mention all the swaps, dragsters, etc etc with the same engine hitting those numbers with ease. if huge numbers is all you're after, might as well go 502 crate lol

Is it really still an RX-8 without the Renesis?

I think the most distinct feature engine wise, pretty much anywise, that it pumps out power with a 1.3 2rotor.
And whats the first thing you think about when you think "RX-8"
I know I think "i love rotors"
