drove it to a car show

took first place in compact car class mild.


so the car has about 300 miles on her, she drives fine. still doesn't like to start up like normal it acts like those youtube video's with bad starters or low compression. its actually easier to start after its warm. so I think the starter is going out.

it idles about 16inhg of vacuum.

QSV impressions, it seems to have more torque in general driving, like it doesn't feel like its lugging in low rpms. I have been going easy on her but she will build boost at 3000rpms as apposed to 3800-4000rpms. as I but more miles on her I will log more and be able to compare, but it feels really good!

Curious about your thoughts on the Atkins rebuild kit. I have heard and read mix things about them regarding their quality and knowledge when it comes to the Renesis.

 

so far so good, I didn't get a "rebuild kit" as they sale them

I just picked what I needed. I just got the water seals and gaskets, all the gaskets are OEM and the water seals seemed OEM except for the outer ones. the main seals looked OEM, the oil pressure mod is from pineapple. I didn't talk to them about specifics just ordered parts, they did call to double check the rx7 corner seals where correct, so that was nice. they where supprised that I was milling out the rx8 rotors

 

I do not recall the exact issue with their kit but thinking it had to do with either with the seals or gaskets they supplied were for the RX7. Sounds like they have addressed that if they are using OE parts.

do you have g/s or load logs from before and after you can overlay to show the difference ?

I have one video, I need to edited shorter, right now its 15 minutes of HIGH def blitz cruising. but its like 2gigs

I haven't done any WOT logs yet, still dialing in the 0psi logs, but when I do I will have logs to show the difference

 

can you post pics of your turbo manifold? I can't seem to find them

 

these are what I could find, the wastegate is VTA though



I also have a flex joint in the downpipe now right at the flange and a second O2 bung right at the DP v-band

Farza which air filter are you using?

 

there is a picture of it on page 6, its a k&N, with a filter sock, but I am leaning towards purchasing a similar product from AFE, they have quaility dry filters,

I don't have proof but I feel like the oil from the k&N filter, coated and ruined the filiment on my maf.

 

Yeah, I saw it and that's what had me wondering. I'm trying to figrure out what size will fit under there. I've got a 3.5" OD MAF housing(treadstone). It looks like the same size as yours.

 

Rebuilt the turbo recently, did the runs
EBC Peak Hold shows 9.2psi, boost guage was showing 11psi so lets say 10psi
the boost is calc load for fun
