Compression C-1 pipe help

Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone had any helpful hints on how to get the compression pipe bolted to the top of the turbo when its bolted down to the manifold. I sat there and stared at it for about a good hour, laughing and saying WhoTF designed this! LoL! I really dont want to take the turbo off again cause I just did that about 3 hours ago to get the actuator put on. Ready to take all this **** off and put it back to stock! Any and all help is appreciated!

i installed mine by using a long extension from the engine bay...if you deleted your air pump, you can get to it....it's kind of tough to get the bolt started...no easy way around it really. the gasket was the biggest problem for me...i used a little bit of rtv to hold it in place so it wouldn't keep sliding off

I took a gander from the top and it didnt look possible to get to the turbo, maybe Ill take another look tomorrow. I used to black RTV to hold the gasket onto the pipe in hopes that would help but I cant seem to get both hands in there, one to hold the pipe and the other to start the screw. I especially dont see any way to get the back bolt on. Why cant something just go easy for once during this install! Lol!

Two long extensions, a 10mm socket with a knuckle joint.

Go in from above, by the washer bottle, make sure the gasket is in straight!

Exactly stealth....I forgot I used a joint too.

Don't give up dude, you have done the hardest part already; installing the turbo itself. Maybe there is someone in your area that's installed this kit before that can help you.

Im the only turbo in Austin. I have been going from the top all day but it doesnt seem to want to go in. I have the gasket rtv'd to the pipe so its not sliding at all. I can get the screw started (stand up in hole) but then because its at such a weird angle, the socket with the knuckle just knocks the screw out. I tried taping the screw to the socket, taping the knuckle so it would only move when I wanted it too, but I cant seem to get the screw threaded in like 2 threads so it would stop wiggling. Just frustrating!!

Did you take the engine mount off? Did you drop the motor a little bit? I dont remember having that much trouble with that piece. Try using a ratchet wrench.

I didnt drop the motor mount cause according to the directions the motor mount is already back in. Is it easier without it?? Im getting very good at taking that thing out! Lol! I went and had a couple beers and feeling pretty good right now and now feel better about trying this again! Just have to wait 2 weeks.

Ya, I dont either. Considering the time and money I have already put into this, I dont want to go back to stock, and since Im almost done! Just this stupid *** part. I work on $12 million equipment at work with no problem but when it comes to a .46 cent screw, I get stuck! Lol!

Come to think about it this just might work. Thanks to you and MF for the suggestion. Just sucks cause I thought I had put the motor mount in for the last time and tightened it pretty good! Dammit!

.......... take the motor mount out, and drop the motor..........

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!

DANGER!!

If you remove the mount, the next thing that will hold the weight of the motor is the wastegate actuator!

It will be irreparably damaged if you let it touch the frame rail below.

Hear me now, and believe me LATER!

The term - 'drop the motor' is misleading, 'lower gently while watching carefully' is a better description.

Kane says lose BOTH mounts and push the motor driverways, but it I could never get it to work for me.....

Oh trust me, I know what "drop the motor means." Im not just going take the mount off and drop the jack! lol!! Im very familiar with raising and lowering the engine to suite my needs during this install. Im prolly the slowest person on here when it comes to this install so I had to take out and put back in the motor mount everyday for the first 2 weeks while I was working on different things. Plus also Im **** with my car and repainting everything I took off, and its 108 degrees everyday which makes me not want to go out and work on it. Thanks for looking out for me though!
