The gaskets would leak before the manifold broke. And you would need really good vacuum line and clamps.

you think? those vac lines are itty bitty. even a 1/4" line at 25 psi is only about 1.5 pounds of force. I've tie wrapped all of mine and they're pretty snug.

That car is in my garage.

Also, who needs a plastic mani?

Will have car back end of this week hopefully .
So then :
retest and tune after modifications
Dyno as is with shot engine , with aim of maxing out the system.
If I don't blow the engine doing that .........
Fit new AL radiator and better battery then :
Have fun with car ... maybe smoke some tyres , do some track days etc

Then rebuild engine , make any improvements. If the setup is really good ... maybe start thinking about the show aspect .

I came across another kit that seems to share a similiar design/wastegate placement as yours. Seems like the rx8oerformance turbo kit has a really similiar design.

"Here’s how it works:

The intermediate or center housing of the Renesis engine has a divided exhaust port sleeve which allows exhaust from both chambers to exit into one common exhaust runner. This effectively means there is half the physical time between exhaust pulses exiting through this runner which provides a smooth continuous flow of exhaust gases. Because the exhaust pulses are forced through a smaller divided sleeve the total volume is less but, the velocity of the exhaust flow is increased! In the manifold design we routed the center runner carrying these gases through a smooth sweeping radius to minimize turbulence and to keep velocity as high as possible as it entered the turbo!"

Took that from here: RX8Performance Turbo Kit by RX-8 Performance | RX8Performance.com

I haven't seen too many people running that kit but its some interesting info.

Yeah ... similar in that it it is low mount . That's about where it ends . The design is totally different. Those kits are very good though . Have tuned a couple and they do spool up exceptionally well . I was going to get one myself before deciding to go my own way .

"spool up exceptionally well" despite having a non-divided housing

You still don't get it ....

Haven't posted any engine bay , IC pics simply because there have not been any changes from my previous setup in those areas. I can do some current photos once I get the car back. The engine bay is pretty ordinary TBH.

Results are in ..........................
So upshot is no significant increase in spoolup but a definite increase in midrange torque . Not only virtual dyno and seat of the pants but the loss of traction that is now evident in 2nd gear confirms this.

0.82 AR turbine housing is on the way and will be fitted next week.

to me the logs look like increased spool up, more boost sooner means more power sooner.

any pictures of the new manifold???

It does look that way but the logs of boost/load vs rpm tell a different story . To 4000rpm there was no change . 4000 to fully spooled maybe 100 rpm better .....if that . The torque increase was noticeable however, so It was worth doing the mod. even if it didn't do what I had hoped.

Thanks for sharing these details Brettus, looking forward to results with new housing.

While functionally pretty different, your mani is starting to shape up like a twin-scroll version of the rx8performance mani.

Are you able to guess at a performance comparison: Brettus 111 manifold with twin scroll turbine vs. RX8Perf manifold with std scroll turbine, assuming all other turbo specs are as identical as possible?
