I'm guessing you don't need an intercooler based on where the SC is being mounted?

i will try to ans questions with my limited knowledge...lol

nycgps
Do you need to take the engine down for installation ?
No need.... just have to relocate a few things "alternator, the leads of the spark plugs, battery and some bits after the throttle body...etc" to make rooms for the compressor.

dont need engine management ?
Blitz SC came with a boost controller to help with stabilize the boost and a pre-tuned (FUel MaP??) sub-computer, just have to wire it to the original ECU.

no intercooler for rx8 but i know they do have SC with an intercooler for some other cars.(sxe10 Altezza and celica).

Rotor, you should be able to post bigger pictures if you want.

It looks like you are using a nice camera, but you've shrunk the images down so much it is hard to see anything.

If you can get it on a dyno or borrow someone's Gtech to take some HP/Torque curves that would be huge for the community to see. We all have a pretty good idea what a baseline RX8 looks like so it would at least give us a solid idea on the improvements and what the curve looks like.

Yeah, the Blitz supercharger kit is all over the place. In Japan, England, the U.S. its for the RX-8 Auto and Manual... but the problem is I can't get any performance numbers. I see some stuff that it may add 100 HP, but no specific numbers or Dyno.

Somebody, anybody with a Blitz supercharger, please give us some numbers.

im more keen on the increased torque...and also whether the piggy back unit used is efficient enough giving no issues unlike the greddy's emanage.

hope to hear the review very soon now from rotor

for me 40whp is enough ....

I don't wan't to pay for an other trnasmission

and I prefere 40whp from a blitz or hymee compressor and no problem for the engine, ecu and clean installation (hollow)
than 100 whp with a big lag (turbo) putting the engine in danger .....

Yeah the P-Shooter SC kit from Blitz adds like "40+ at a safe set up".

What on earth are you talking about?
  1. You will not need a new transmission if your car generates an additional 100 hp.
  2. There is virtually zero lag with the greddy turbo, boost starts around 2500 rpm. Mash the throttle and you're going to get an immediate full boost.
  3. Engine isn't in danger if it's tuned properly.

Well if the kit can't get me near 100 whp or get me near 300 HP than its not worth it for me. I defintely want to be doing 5 sec or better 0-60 and 13 to 12 sec 1/4 miles.

If the kit gets me there than I will consider it, if not, than I have to pass on it.

Anybody with the Blitz supercharger kit have any numbers they want to put up???

You're forgetting that this is a roots blower, not a turbo. You're getting the full instant boost of positive displacement. The biggest change will be the low end tourqe. I'm guessing the boost will bleed off up top, hence the not-so-impressive gain in max hp numbers. You should be accelerating much faster with this thing.

I like the idea of this charger, but two things will probably keep me from getting it.

1. roots blowers put out plenty of heat, and heat is already a big enemy of the 8 (and even more so in my AT8 - sue me for owning one).

2. the top end doesn't get much help.

I'd rather have a twin-screw or axial flow.
