Manifold is setup for a T3 1.06 GT35R, Wastegate is an open dumped Tial 44MVR, downpipe is 3" SS.

Mspeedpro 07-03-2010 11:21 AM

Was this made for a shop or is it a one-off piece for an individual?

Spoolin8 07-03-2010 11:35 AM

What happens when you have to get a new belt and then the bracket doesnt work because the belt adjustment is different?

the picture they show is an adjustable bracket.....

09Factor 07-03-2010 11:05 PM

Your welding is getting better and better and better. So is the support bracket part of the final setup or just temporary support>.

Jedi54 07-04-2010 02:13 AM

whoa.

Brettus 07-04-2010 02:36 AM

swet looking setup - are we going to get a dyno of this one ?

NgoRX8 07-04-2010 10:44 AM

Not on this one, it shipped out of state to the customer. I promise we are going to be done soon with 09 Factor's car soon, there will be a dyno for that one...
We also might be having a 8 being shipped in for a complete installation including dyno tuning too. Its only a matter of time, we have just had a swamped with work for the past 6 months or so..

Jamaalsmith 07-06-2010 02:24 PM

that DOES look awesome... i bet its going to flow like crazy ;)

WAR CRUNK 07-06-2010 03:16 PM

i need one for my 8!!!!! manifold is a good place to start for my future turbo

Nemesis8 11-06-2010 05:21 PM

Nice heat sheilding there

09Factor 11-06-2010 07:12 PM

It is nice, and a nice penny too! I love to see the different changes on each setup.

Realize this is a bit backwards from how its typically done, but "This is what i've done" is better than "this is what I plan on doing."

Thanks Elliot and people @ Turblown Engineering, always answered my rediculous questions at all hours of the night/day.

Jeff @ mazdamaniac...I initially thought you were an ass...but you are damn good. Thanks for the tune and providing the accessport.

Go big or go home.

What are you using for an EMS?

Jedi54 12-27-2010 12:54 PM

looks good AND making nice powah.

Cobb Accessport

Jamaalsmith 12-27-2010 01:27 PM

I should also note (before Elliot hurts me) that this was achieved at about 60% throttle, with a shot fuel regulator...clearly expecting better results at full throttle with a fully functioning regulator.

Likewise.
Next time, provide a forwarding address.

9krpmrx8 12-27-2010 01:55 PM

Nice setup, looks well done.

09Factor 12-27-2010 02:06 PM

So Jamaal, are you going to post up the Dyno in the Highest TC/SC Dyno thread?
Here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/highest-horsepower-dynos-sc-turbo-nitrous-post-them-here-180037/

Your MAF is going to hate you :)

It already does.

Pictured MAF setup was changed before dyno.

MazdaManiac 12-27-2010 04:38 PM

The current setup is tits.
It just needs some TLC and it'll be a screamer.

Jamaalsmith 12-27-2010 11:49 PM

Yes, we got that MAF fixed a little while ago.

Jamaalsmith 12-27-2010 11:50 PM

And Dave, i'd love to post my dyno, but i'll wait for Elliot and Jeff to work thier magic first. I'll post the 'final' one when they are done.

Brettus 12-28-2010 12:06 AM

cool - looks very strong up top - hoilding boost all the way . Assuming Is the green line is PSI ?

dannobre 12-28-2010 12:09 AM

Torque?....

NgoRX8 12-28-2010 12:15 AM

That dyno chart is stock baseline versus turbo. The boost profile looks pretty darn good on their facebook. haha. ends up around 11 psi up top and actually peak boost is at 6500 with 11.6.

The top two lines are HP and TQ for Jemaal's car.
The bottom two lines are HP and TQ for a different, totally stock car (user name "DuBy") on the same dyno back in March.

Werd. Looks a little like this...

NgoRX8 12-28-2010 12:31 AM

^wow that works well?

looks like 3 inches of pipe before the maf and a reducer.

Makes sense now - thanks .

Yeah, it is not ideal. But it will probably get the job done.
It was a real bear to get it to read correctly and it still has some stumbles that need to be corrected.
We'll get it straight. I can force just about anything to work.

FazdaRX_8 12-28-2010 12:45 AM

subscribbing, Setup Looks good

Thanks :) we designed the system around the turbo. We wanted to ensure that it matched the character of the engine and not peeter out up top. Before Elliot @ Turblown even started the build, the guys at A-spec Tuning helped me decide what turbo to use along with some compressor maps posted up on the forum and on Garret's website.

At some point ill put up the complete itemized list of what has been done to facillitate the turbo. I might not include prices cause it might hurt... lol

NgoRX8 12-28-2010 02:16 AM

Ahh there it is. It definitely looks strong up top. What is interesting is the boost increase right around the time most of us usually have the APVs open. Curious if the APV is still set to open around 6250 rpm.

This makes me really want an external wastegate. lol

Would definitely like to see your build list when its all done.

MazdaManiac 12-28-2010 12:01 PM

The APV is kept closed as is the VDI.

dannobre 12-28-2010 12:08 PM

So what kind of flow are you getting at 10psi with the APV closed?

Brettus 12-28-2010 12:14 PM

ahhh . That explains why whp is a little low relative to boost ;)

No, not really. Though that is a valid observation.
The fact that the throttle was partly closed has more to do with it. :smoker:

TeamRX8 12-28-2010 12:48 PM

I suppose it was expecting too much for people to patiently wait and save the commentary until the full dyno results are posted ....

Yes . Honestly team , you forget where you are at times

FazdaRX_8 12-28-2010 01:02 PM

Jeff, I was wondering if you liked this setup more then the Speed Force Racing setup?

I don't feel it would be appropriate for me to comment on that here.
Perhaps you should start a thread comparing the two setups?

Curious - if the APVs were closed . Why is there a dip at 6500 ?
