what do you need arp fasteners for?

Just remember the difference between ft in's and ft lbs... You should be golden.

I just want to replace all the fasteners and the guy at the engine shop said not to use store bought junk. I figure ARP is the way to go but I will hit up Fastenal and see what they have in the M8 x 1.25 x 40mm variety. I actually found some sets of 5 ARP stainless steels bolts for under $20.00 so that is not too bad.

this is a sticky--5 pages about a stuck bolt
And What a bolt!
You should make a necklace out of it or sumthing and it has got to have a name--how about
"Ralph?"
NAME THIS BOLT!
I do see a happy happy joy dance coming?
God help us all if the long *** alternator bolt mess's up.

Just have this thread renamed 9krpmrx8's bolt breaking thread or 9krpmrx8 dicks around with an engine for 6 months thread

then make your 1 week long build thread

you know this is not my engine and I dont even live in the same state---but dang if I haven't found myself thinking about this stupid bolt at times.
I love this bolt. I will buy it from you when it is out. Its very special

Now you know I am just kidding around with you --right?

But I will buy the bolt. Aution it off to help with the assitance you needed to remove it?
It is the Godzille of LIM bolts--no doubt.
I will bid $5 for it!

That bolt is powder right now!!!

The engine shop was able to drill it out and install a threaded insert. I should have just taken it to them on day one but I am a stubborn jackass. It is ready to be picked up! Now who wants to help me go pick it up?
