Thanks, yeah I looked at those on the diagrams but none of them look like the right one since this one has a 90 on one end.

Does that one have an o-ring inside of the fitting like the ones under the hood?

Yeah, I am thinking it may be that one. I wonder how fun it is to replace.

It has the blue thingamajiggy that goes in it and it was seated correctly and in good shape. The connector snaps on securely but it's still leaking. As you can see in the video, if I put pressure on it the leak stops.

I just can't believe I didn't smell it while driving around.

Looks like one end of that line goes to the charcoal canister. I wouldn't expect fuel to be going through it if that is the case ... only vapors.

I've never pulled the one on my pump. I'll look when I get home in a few hours, but under the hood. There is the internal keeper and below that is a o-ring.

Yeah some of them have the blue retainer, some have the little red c clip. I will find out tonight what bitch it is going to be to pull. I think the line is just worn out after 10 years, it doesn't have the slot for the little red C clip and that line has not been messed with in three years so I am pretty sure it in intact, just leaking.

This explains why your fuel pressure is so low after the car sits for a while. At least you know the problem now all you have to do is fix it.

Yep, the pump stills makes enough pressure to maintain 60psi whil driving or cranking but after shutdown the pressure bleeds off. I am glad I caught it and didn't have to use my new fire extinguisher,

Seems strange a problem like that would arise all of a sudden, looks like its missing an o-ring or gasket of some sort.

My guess is that over time the fitting just gets worn and can't hold on tight enough. If it had popped off I could see something disappearing but it is clipped on tight, it just leaks. Mazda actually recommends replacing these lines at the engine and not reusing them. Although they don't do that when they install a reman,

O-rings just go bad over time. Or the constant pressure might have stretched out the little keeper.

Good lock with the fix, that's a bad spot to have a fuel leak.

BTW nice build.

I dunno man, I smoked for 15 years, my sense of smell must be gone,

Thanks for the clarification. Do you know if the tank has to be dropped or not to replace that?

Looked like a sprinkler system gushing out there. It had to be running out on the ground.

I'm hoping the tank doesn't have to be dropped, but am not sure. That's why I put off replacing mine until after the National Championships in two weeks. Mines not leaking though, just had to make a cut & clamped hose seal in the plastic fuel line section per the linked incident thread. Your car should stay parked until that gets fixed. Charles/BHR mentioned he had a new fuel line. You should hit him up.

I have ridden in his car as well and have never smelled it. 9K's car mostly smells like burning carpet glue from the heat of the turbo.

oh, it's definitely staying parked. I already ordered the part, I got a hook up on it so it wasn't too bad. Ah, the smell of burning carpet glue.............
