90% Completed Conversion.
The transplant is almost complete. Working through tuning "issues" I have never done before has kept the pace down to a crawl, even before the car has been to the dyno. I can't even begin to tell you how sensitive this engine combination has been to tune from scratch. The corrections that have to be programmed are the kickers, battery voltage correction is HUGE, cold start, warm up, manifold air temperature, and acceleration having to use TPS and MAP corrections. Just to illustrate how sensitive, a mere 1/4 percent change in the VE (Fuel Map) table has a huge impact on AFR. Now try doing that for EVERY CELL of the 16 x 16 table?
I initially thought I would have to cut the hood and install a fiberglass Turbo II style hood scoop but fortunately, by cutting out just the internal hood bracing as you can see in the pictures, the hood closes with just enough room to clear the throttle body after trimming it as well. The radiator fan had to be installed in front of the radiator and "blow through" because there is not enough room as you can see. I will have to keep an eye on this when it warms up and the air conditioning is on as well. All in all, this has been a fun project and I have to say that after I have tuned the car on the dyno, it's going to be fun to drive. Even without the 3rd stage intake opening, it's a rocket compared to the 12A and it pick up is so much faster.
Now it's time to change the rear end, struts and brakes, put new wheels and tires on and get it painted.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will answer several of the questions and comments in a week or so. Just been really busy with other carb to FI conversion on my road race car. There is only so much time in a day!
I can tell you that this car is just a blast to drive. I've been driving it to work every day and it is the most smoothest ride I have driven. The engine is so well balanced.
I did have to install a new 84 automatic style radiator as the original just was not cutting it he in the Texas 100 degree + temperatures here. Now it runs 107 C with A/C on. Still a little warm so I am considering a better electric fan.
I can tell you that this car is just a blast to drive. I've been driving it to work every day and it is the most smoothest ride I have driven. The engine is so well balanced.

Yea that radiator is cool I installed one in an 84 1st gen b4. The coolant level sensor was acting up though it sits higher than stock but it was not loosing juice. Wow I want to do this project but I also don't want to crash another 1st Gen.
What are you doing for oil cooling? Maybe if you could put fan on oil cooler could help your temps. You prob want that radiator fan on all the time if under 30mph.

I removed the electric servo motor and fabricated a lever that I could connect the throttle cable and oil injection cable to. The only thing that sucks is getting to the idle screw!
I think I might invest in a generic 70 mm throttle body if I had to do it again.
