BTW I wish people would quit making suggestions on other cars...this is my one true love, she is curvy, she is beautiful, and like every woman she has a temper, I am just trying to figure out how to beat her into submission and get what I want out of her.
Gasoline has an Autoignition Temp of 475deg F, Ethanol has one of 689deg F. It takes more temps to autoignite alcohol or ignite it period. Autoignition is the most common cause of detonation which happens to be the most common cause of engine breakage. So you can advance ignition, and you can boost higher and still have less chance of detonation. And I am not even taking into account the fact that you are putting more volume of fuel into the chamber for the same air which combined with alcohol's huge cooling properties add's another degree of safety.
Hope this helps.
Chris
p.s. I can help you set up your car for E85, imo its the best thing ever.
Alot of good info in here one thing I will say is I had daily driven mine for awhile I was putting close to $400 a month in gas in it with daily driving it.
Tons of Fun and the pedal to the floor!
Good Luck and let me know if you need anything along the way.

you could just buy my car for $30k and sell the one you have and skip the headache of doing it yourself.

Remember this... say you build a 400rwhp Renesis based turbocharged RX8. You're damn near the ceiling of what's possible. As much as you say you like the RX8, after reading your posts, I get the sense that you're the type of person that will want something faster than that, and won't be happy very long with just 400rwhp. That's basically maxed out.

I have already opted for being more humble in the 300 range for now
that dyno is none of those things ......

but he is smart like tuna, and knows people!

but that is a hint of what can be done.. as to the dyno.. xxxx is sharp like shark.. and is using stuff that only silly long knowledge rotary people know about run.. outside the box..
but i digress..
beers
I guess my point was : why say all those things like it was a commonplace thing, that anyone could do ,if nobody has ever actually done it ......
Just like all the guys saying 400whp is what we can get with a turbo . Where are all the dynos . It's all just BS until it becomes the new standard . Just like 300whp is now .

the only for sale kit that has been sold is the pettit kit..
complete or not..
sad, but true.. levels of hp or tq dont matter.. it is still diy..
the pettit kit is as close as it has come to a real kit..
give me another that has come close?
beers
only kit you might be able to buy that has engine management is the pettit kit.. in the usa..
but still wondering where the op is from.
sfr was the start of this post.. and big cup of fail..
btw, a long time ago sfr failed.. think it was the person that was installing the kit could not afford the o2 sensor.. so they could not test it.. this was back when they were a sponsor.. or it could be ptp..
wish it was different..
but it is what it is...

OK I see what you are saying .
I didn't think the Petit was available now either ?
Despite all the issues - the Greddy kit is still a great starting point for a turbo install.

I have made up my mind, on the turbo kit I will be using, I was nearly going to S/C from Pettit and then changed my mind, I know it would be great but I want to see esmeril get credit where credit is due. I am going all the way, E85, turbo, ignition, and seals. I am going to follow chris instruction to the "T". I think people are doing their own thing and instead of listening to an innovator that has made it work, they have other variables that he has not accounted for. I also realize unlike many that if you fail, its your own damn fault, if you modify, you are risking damage, I am certain many people would see it this way within margin. I dont believe he is selling junk, and I am excited to find out that I am right. I greatly appreciate everyone chiming in on this, and will keep updates on the build.
