First post here so bear with me...

I just installed my XCarLink adapter and I have run into a bit of a snag. I ordered the refurbished unit from RPS and it only comes with the iPod cable (reading comprehension fail on my part), but I don't have an iPod. I know that the iPod cable carries a standard analog audio signal as well as 5V power. What I would like to do is dissect the cable I have and convert the iPod connector to USB + 3.5mm stereo audio so I can connect those to my Android phone. Does anybody here know which wires are which in the XCarLink iPod cable?

Can anybody point me in the right direction for USB power off of the same cable?

 

With all due respect, I'd return it, pay the re-stocking fee (if there is one) and buy the correct kit. They might even be the exact same module, so they may let you return just the cable and repurchase the correct one.
