both are good alarms, i have the viper 5901 on the 8 and the python [not sure which model #] on the miata and mr2.

as far as i know i dont think you need a bypass for an auto, but i have a manual and we do need one.

as for the window module, if you want to be able to control it with the remote, also for the trunk release sensor, if you want to add that to the aux input in the remote, then yes you will need it. i dont have them on the , but i did add them to the other cars because back then, all you had was a key without buttons.

Viper and Python are both made by DEI. Pretty much the industry leader in security and convenience systems.

We're talking about a transponder when you say "bypass", yes? In order to get the remote start to work, yes, you'll need one.

If you want to be able to control the windows with the Python remote, then yes, you'll need another module for that (530t I think?). As for trunk release sensor, do you mean to pop the trunk with the keyfob? Or to sense if it has been broken into? Either way, your security system can do both without anything additional. Might be ~$20 up-charge during installation though. In fact, it's probably best to just take everything you have so far to your installer and ask them any further questions you may have.
