viper 5901 car alarm
ok im about to order a viper 5901 car alarm. my question is do i need the bypass module for my automatic 8? i know they need it for the manual 8. was just wondering if needed for automatic

ok so i dropped the viper and got a python574. everyone i talk to says i need the bypass module. will i still need to buy the window module and trunk release senor to use it with my alarm? can anyone help me with install?

as far as i know i dont think you need a bypass for an auto, but i have a manual and we do need one.
as for the window module, if you want to be able to control it with the remote, also for the trunk release sensor, if you want to add that to the aux input in the remote, then yes you will need it. i dont have them on the , but i did add them to the other cars because back then, all you had was a key without buttons.

Viper and Python are both made by DEI. Pretty much the industry leader in security and convenience systems.
We're talking about a transponder when you say "bypass", yes? In order to get the remote start to work, yes, you'll need one.
If you want to be able to control the windows with the Python remote, then yes, you'll need another module for that (530t I think?). As for trunk release sensor, do you mean to pop the trunk with the keyfob? Or to sense if it has been broken into? Either way, your security system can do both without anything additional. Might be ~$20 up-charge during installation though. In fact, it's probably best to just take everything you have so far to your installer and ask them any further questions you may have.
