Vehicle clock losing time

Now that Mazda has replaced my engine...for FREEE!!! I'm keeping my RX-8. To celbarate I had the local sound shop install a Pioneer reciever with GPS/Bluetooth/I-Pod. Pioneer # AVIC-U310BT. And of course they had to use the Metra kit. I have the Grand Touring addition with Bose System.

Problem is the Mazda clock on the dash, not the clock on the new reciever.

Since the install the clock runs slow. It looks about 40 minutes every 24 hours (ball park). This is NOT a clock stops when the car is turned off. If the car is off for 8 hours it will loose about 10 minutes. They don't know what the problem could be, but they are willing to work with me. Before I go to the dealer I would like to know if anyone might have a solution to the problem.

It is a metra kit issue you need to have your kit updated to the latest software. I have the same problem with my metra kit. See this thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/metra-kit-update-need-cable-look-here-172024/
