trying to play video....FAIL!

Im trying to play music videos and or movie files from my computer on my Headunit. I have the pioneer AHV-4200DVD. I tryed putting the MPEG file of a music video on an sd card and put it in the head unit to play and no dice. I looked in the instruction book and it says it only plays wma file. so i downloaded a video conver ( 3 different ones) and converted them to wma files on the sd card and still it just plays audio. I went out and bought the new ipod touch 5th gen. converted the files to mp4 and loaded them into itunes and then into the ipod then plugged it in to play through the usb port on the head unit and still just audio. then i heard from some people that i need an adaptor cable from the ipod to the usb input, so i bought one of thoes and still just audio.....

WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG HERE?????

............HELP!!!

You know the parking brake has to be pulled for full-motion video to play, correct?

Or possibly the parking brake wire wasn't connected properly when installed.

Beyond that, I recommend hitting up avic411.com for help.
