ok so this isnt about an 8 but should be similar. i had an aftermarket radio in another car but traded it in on a cx7. the cx7 has sat radio which worked when purchased but one day it just stopped. i called xm to try to transfer the subscription but they said they need the radio id.

so my question is does anyone know how to get the sat radio id of an oem mazda head unit?

Turn on the sat radio. The preview station should always be available, active subscription or not. Change to channel 000. This should display your ID.

If you can't even get the preview channel to play, then you have bigger problems.
