no idea man, different manufacturers handle the boot process differently samsung uses the playlpm files and others use the bootloader like the nexus
check for the playlpm files on it (i dont think it will have them though)
so i'm afraid i can't really help there i only know how to do it on samsung devices and found the nexus solution while i was trying to work out the samsung one

I used this cuz the Enspert tablet doesn't know landscape mode on the start screen.
I didn't like the status bar either...

If I understand your need correctly, there is a home screen hack app called "VTLab-launcher", you can fully customize your home screen.

Yes, but this screen is from Racingmeter, a Torque add-on.
You got gear indicator, rpm leds, temps, etc.
Custum screens, graphs are also posible.

Hey!! Awesome job with the install! You've totally motivated me to ditch the old Nav system (which has been rendered useless anyway because someone stole my navigation discs) and put a tablet in it's place. Like you said, it probably makes *way* more sense once I start getting into the dash, but I figured I'd ask anyway...so I see how you've wired everything inside the hood (the tablet, the pcb, etc), but how about connecting the power to the car? (That's probably the easiest part, huh? lol.) Attempting to put two and two together here and guessing you installed that cig socket somewhere and then just plugged the tablet into there? Is that where your Soldering EQ came in?

i used two fuse taps to the fuse box in the footwell. one for the tablet which was connected to a cigarette lighter socket and the other was for the permanent live to the satnav hood. i then took another acc from the cigarette lighter itself and just used a fuse tap on that.
for the ground i just found a ground point behind the radio somewhere.

Hi everyone. So I just became aware this conversion was possible today. Are these DIY projects or is professional installation available? I'm very uninformed about this type of technology and don't think I could do it. I'm mechanically inclined but total Luddite regarding electronics.
Thanks for any input.

A customization shop should be able to do it. But it's really not hard to do yourself, if you got a bud that can read a basic wire diagram and can solder decently it should be a cakewalk.
It took me about 3 months to do mine, but I slowly bought all the parts I needed. My car didn't even have Navi in it so I had to find a hood first. And once I got the tablet, I kinda got addicted to it and wanted to use it around the house for awhile before installing it. lol

What are you guys doing for phone integration? Can you display, receive, and dial phone calls from the tablet? If not, what is your solution for phone calls?
I currently have my phone bluetooth connected to my Grom system but that will have to be connected to my tablet once I get that. So how do I go about syncing my phone to the tablet so I can have telephony connectivity through my tablet? Basically, I dont want to take out my phone to make or answer a call.
