Why would it be any more of a liability issue than an auto-close sunroof modification? As had been mentioned before in the original thread for this device, unless the sensor to reverse the motor is sensitive enough to prevent damage to a small child's fingers if caught, it wouldn't pass any requirements from the NHTSA anyway.

With this in mind, if folks wanted the convenience of one-touch power up windows and someone was willing to make the mod and sell it, I don't see how they'd be any more liable than the sunroof mod. I suppose you could argue that it's more likely that a child or animal would get caught in a window than a sunroof...

There isn't any more liablity with auto-up windows. However, like you mentioned, it is more likely that something could get caught in the windows.

The factory window circuit is completely different the sunroof circuit and therefore my module will not work on the windows. I don't plan on releasing anything for the windows.

The safety on the windows is how the buttons are on the door. A person pushes down to go down but has to pull up in order to have the window go up. This prevents a person from accidentally rolling it up on something when they lean on the door.
