RotaryRasp's Sunroof Switch Mod Installed

Not sure if everyone' had a chance to check it out but RotaryRasp is at it again with another unique mod.
I always wished the Sunroof could have an auto-close button and now I've got one!

This is an awesome little mod that literally only takes 5 minutes to install.

I think the Group buy is ending soon so get in while you can: https://www.rx8club.com/group-buy-center-85/gb-one-touch-close-sunroof-module-141615/

^^ that would be BITCHIN'!

I was thinking about what RR should do next and I'd really love an Auto-Down passenger side window.
Auto-up on both would ROCK but I think it might be a liability issue.

love this mod. especially when i go to town where rain comes in anytime. i'd be driving with my moonroof open and just flick the button once when i see drizzles. very convenient while you're driving.

PS
-changed my username, was raizen82 for anyone wondering why a first poster newb has RR's mod

Let me start out by giving props to Rotary Rasp...this is a cool little project he has taken upon himself.

However, I'm quite surprised that so many people are willing to pay $40 (or more) to save 3-4 seconds when closing their sunroof. I'm glad that so many people are happy with this product...but will NOT be purchasing one myself.

Don't me to sound like a thread-crapper, but just my 2 cents.

Well, I figure it's at least 20 bucks in parts, plus shipping, as well as the time and effort made to put them together. If it was mass produced I'd say that it's pricey for what it is, but considering the hand made nature of the device, I think it's cheap, and I don't mind a few bucks skimmed off the top for the forum member making it. He deserves it for providing a service.

I'm seriously considering getting one. I'm a real fan of subtle modifications. It's not about saving time so much as making the car function exactly the way I want it to.

having your hands back on or free for vehicle control is worth it for me. might have been a bad idea when we used the term "laziness" in the group buy thread

I'll spend more then $40 on a bottle of wine that won't make it through dinner. I have no problems spending the same amount on my car which I figure to be a wiser allocation of my funds.

My time is more valuable then to be closing my Moon roof that should be left to electronics. Now I just need to program my Blackberry to work for me.

If I wanted my Palm OS restarting every two seconds on me I would go ahead and by a Treo. Plus the new Treos that use Windows are useless I am a long time Treo user (for business EMails) I had the 600 and the 650. I hated how there email wasnt instant and you had to choose the option on how often you wanted it to check your email box. The more it checks the email the more data you end up using. I like how BB emails are instant and that I never have to go over on my data.

I am sure if you tried out the BB8800 you would never go back to a Palm Product

FYI Touch Screen is nothing but Bling
