They work for campers. But if the cop has a laser and gets an instant read, you're screwed either way.

I just found a website about so-called jammers. They don't work. There was one in the early 90's that did , but they have since dissappeared because of fcc regulations concerning transmitting microwaves. Oh well, guess I will go with a belltronics detector.

Passive jammers are just about worthless, and active jammers are just about the most illegal thing you can put in a car. Bottom line.... if you have to drive so fast that you think you need a jammer, then I don't want to be on the road with you.

I don't use a radar detector, and I've never been pulled over for speeding. A little common sense goes a long way. I can't say that I haven't been lucky more than a few times, but you're not going to catch me doing idiotic things like doing 40 in a 25 past a school zone.

Anyway, good luck to you.

edit: Edited to sound less preachy.

My ticket happened at 4:30 AM going to work. I found out later that the new cop in our little town is ex hwy. patrol and his favorite thing to do is write tickets for speeding. I am not in the habit of driving fast but for some reason with this car I find myself having to watch my speed constantly. I am going to buy a detector to warn me of the radar master. He allows no lee-way . Any thing over 5 mi. over and you are ticketed. I would never speed through a school zone or a work zone or where the traffic is heavy, but to have to constantly look at my speedometer when Just cruising down the hwy is crap.

K40.com has just about the best lazer jammer and radar detector on the market, but you'll pay for it $$. It has gotten me out of quite a few tickets, I once had a cop pull me over and yell at me because he couldn't get a reading on his gun.

wonder why K40 Electronics are banned from Radar Detector net. The Best radar Jammer comes from the UK. It is called Laser Interceptor. They bill it as a laser parking assist. They are illegal in a few states, but if you are not stupid and jam all the way to the gun you would be ok.

Do you mind posting the direct link to that statement " K40 Electronics are banned from RadarDetector.net" I would like to find out the reason for it. I know for a fact that they work. Thanx.

Passive Radar "jammers" don't really work unless, you build an illegal one from scratch. The FCC regulates what type of signals you can send out and having an "active" radar jammer has been illegal since the 70's.

That is true, however Lazer jammers are not illegal (FCC cannot regulate light) and do work. The reliability for lidar out weighs the radar due to the limitations of head-on readings only from radar as well as the accuracy ( you can fight and win if you get tagged w/ radar ) Lazer can be utilized from any angle ( including above from a Helicopter ) which is why an increasing number of police are upgrading to lidar guns.

K40/Rocky Radar got a terrible reputation in the '90s from selling/scamming their Phazer and Patriot "radar scramblers". They didn't work and the company name was dirt in the detector industry.

They went into the serious radar detector business in the last few years, and their stuff is actually pretty good, but I'll never buy one, just on principle!

I do have a set of Blinder lidar jammers on my truck, and an old ARC Interceptor radar jammer that has served me well, but it isn't in my '8.

Laser Jammers don't violate federal laws, but are illegal in some states (mine included). They are affected by the same cosine angle error that affects radar. They are only accurate when used head-on. When used at an angle the error increases. They also have to be held steady to find the most reflective surface on a car, like the headlight, licence plate or chrome trim.

Here are the links to the Laser interceptor, and the radar detector net info about K40 electronics.
The Laser interceptor is not a light jammer. It is actually a laser itself thats why it is illegal to use because it emits class 1 laser and that is also why it works . The lasers have to be stationary to get a lock on your speed . If they ever get them usable while patrolling, we are screwed. The guys of lidar and others who test this stuff never list K40 or Rocky mountain radar detectors. They are even less thought of than cobra . Valentine V1, Escort, and Beltronics are the top 3 tested in that order. V1 is still the king of sensitivity, upgrade ability and tough construction. Magnesium case , not plastic.

Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.

The K40 is a piece of overpriced crap that has marginal radar detection and it failed to jam any lidar guns used by the police.

The guysoflidar.com tested the K40 and made a video and K40 threatened to sue radardetector.net if they posted the video or talked about how it didn't work.

Radar Roy didn't want to deal with any lawsuits so he just banned any talk of it on his board.

The K40 definitely doesn't work as a lidar jammer and there are no videos of it actually working on youtube which should tell you something.

Here is the video:

Are Laser Jammers Legal?

Laser jammers are currently illegal in only nine states.

^^ wow really trying to sell a point. I went from having an open mind to being sceptical because of the overly unsettling negativity directly against K40. (agenda anyone) Whatever, at least I know mine works, I have my own proof, lol. In anycase jammer or not, Don't speed.

The Rocky Mountain Radar jammer is a piece of junk. I was stupid enough to buy one so trust me, it doesn't work. The detector part works fine, but the "jammer" operates on such low power that unless you're standing in front of the cops radar gun pointing at him it it's useless.
I got stopped yesterday for 64 in a 45 which is BS, I was actually doing 51. I guess 51 didn't look good enough on the ticket so he had to add 20%. Bottom line: today I ordered a Valentine One. It may not prevent another ticket, but at least I feel like I've got a better chance.

I speak only the truth and I do not work for Valentine Research. If you want to go and buy a RMR jammer or load your car up with a K40 for $2000 that doesn't work then go right ahead. Nothing I say is a lie and I always have proof to back up my claims. The reason I go to all of these forums is to get people to buy the right equipment to remain ticket free and that is it. I will prove that I don't work for Valentine Research, If you live in the one state in the U.S. (Virignia) that bans radar detectors, buy a BELTRONICS STI because it is the only detector that is undetectable by the radar detector detectors or RDDs that they use.

You can call me a spammer or whatever you want but I am honest and you will avoid tickets if you listen to me.

I went with a Valentine One. One of the best investments I've ever made. Back in May I took a road trip in my rx8 to Vegas and back (from Long Island NY). Didn't get a single ticket, and definitely saved me from some. Though my friend got 2 tickets when it was his turns driving because he did not follow some common sense rules about speeding, and also since his personal vehicle is an suv, he probably couldnt help speeding since the 8 is so fun to drive.
