Replacing Factory Audio System
As you guys know i posted in the "RX8 Discussion" about my 6 dash CD changer ejecting my CD's and never working. Well I'm fed up with it now, so i was wondering if any of you members replaced their OEM face/player with an after market system. I think i'm going to buy a new face with a touch screen and something with navigation. Just wondering if any of you guys or girls can point me in the right direction, cause i did a google search and the systems that i'm seeing are going to leave a lot of room where the OEM audio system used to be. All help is appreciated, thanks again as always

have you thought about just replacing the CD player unit itself?
might be easier / cheaper.
Just a thought.

Plenty of options out there for Double DIN sized radios. I personally like Kenwood and I'm using the DDX-514 right now since I didn't need Nav right away and it works fantastic. Some other brands to look at would be Pioneer, Alpine and Clarion. I've had experience with all of those companies and they all make great radios. Find a few radios that fit your needs and then search google for reviews and problems people have had. I'd tell you what to buy but I'm not a douchebag and you should really make up your own mind when it comes to something you are gonna drop serious coin on.
As far as the space left, there will be none because you need to use the Metra Kit (See thread in this section) to adapt the DDIN radio to fit the car and keep your climate controls working. If you want to keep steering wheel controls you will need an interface from PAC. The interfaces they have are specific to the radio you choose (e.g. the PAC SWI-PS is for Pioneer and Sony Radios).

Reinstalling Aftermarket Stereo with Metra Kit
So, I have been riding around now for about a year without an A/C and Hazard lights. The idiot who owned the my Rex first clipped the original wiring conected to the OEM stereo and spliced them to work with the New touch screen JVC. But he forgot to instal the Hazard lights and the A/c controls dont work right. No lights, all you could do is turn on the fan which blows Hot engine heat. On top of that the top diplay does'nt work the one with temp. Any Advice, or does anyone know where i can get the original wires so i could just plug and play my Metra Kit which has been sitting in my trunk for 6 months. I also want to wish everyone on this thread HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
