Radio Options Suggestions?
Radio Options Suggestions?
I just bought a 2005 Grand Touring with Navigation and the CD/MP3 player. I am looking to upgrade my radio with a satellite radio and an iPod adapter, but am told I can have one or the other, but not both. I am also told that adding, say, satellite radio and a tape player where I could use an adapter for the iPod is also not possible. Is this right? Any ways to work around it?
If I can only get one, it would be the iPod adapter. But is there one where you can access the categories on the iPod (artists, albums, songs, etc.) through the radio controls? If not, is there one that at least lets you use your iPod's own controls while its plugged in to the adapter? The one iPod adapter I've seen will let you adjust volume and go through tracks on a single album or playlist, but dosn't display song titles or let you operate the iPod's own controls while its plugged in, which seems very inconvenient.
BTW, the car is increasingly convincing me that all I need to listen to is its engine, but I'd still like my tunes without carrying a case of discs or dealing with a radio transmitter.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds to me like you want a whole new radio, and the absolute best way to do that is the corksport install kit, which lets you install any aftermarket radio without spending a fortune on a custom install job. I just installed the pioneer avic d3 and now have better nav, xm, iPod(with complete radio control), DVD video and blutooth in my 8. The whole setup will run over a thousand but is quite worth it IMHO.
