race harness!!!!!!!

hey guys just wondering whats the best way for me to put my harness in ive read loads of forms in putting them in wrong and that so i want to make them safe which there ment to be lol

i was thinking of putting it were the child harness thing is behind the head rest of the back seats but im not to sure if that will be safe

or putting then between the back seats between the 2 seat pads so about 30-40 degrees angle on it

but i want to still keep it so i can hav 4 people in the car so im thinking of keeping the seat belts in as well
any ideas anyone!!!!
pppppppllllleeeeeeaaaaaaassssssee

A ROLL BAR is the only safe way to install a harness. The LATCH system anchor points are not designed to hold a 200 lbs adult during a crash.

Roll bars don't delete the rear seat...

^No ****, I know it will fit...passengers won't though. The roll bars just make it unbearable to use the rear seats, that's what I was getting at.

"Useless" is the wrong word and so is "unbearable"...

They are more so "unsafe" but you can most definitely still use them and get back there, especially without the middle bar in place... the same sized person that would normally "comfortably" get in the back can still get back there.

But who in their right mind would want to try and squeeze in back there? And you, yourself, said they are more unsafe...then why use them at all with the bar installed?

As a person WITH the bar I can assure you it is no less "comfortable" per se that it was to begin with. The only thing hampering you is the bar on the floor which wont affect you unless the driver seat is all the way back. OR the side bar that goes through the plastic which you can rest your arm on.

If any of you have ever built or owned a caged race car, its a lot more comfortable than sitting in one of those. The middle bar is so far forward you'd NEVER touch it. The driver is in an equally less safe position like those in the back...

By "middle bar" bar are you referring to the harness bar? Looks like its within reach of a crash especially the rear passengers' knees; I personally wouldn't want to be sitting back there. It does look like they're harder to get into as well.

I'd call the rear seats more or less, under practical and safety terms, unusable.

Speaking for myself, I have worked on and driven in full caged RX8's and find them more comfortable and more safe to sit in. To add to what dan said, I would never allow anyone, even my worst enemy to ever sit in the back seat if I had a roll bar installed. I prayer your rear passengers if you are ever in an accident.
