Exclamation Prob w/subs and amp hookup: HELP?!?

I have searched this forum but found nothing on this. I just hooked up my system, JL 10W7 with a Sony Explode 1100W amp. I went by the diagrams for the LOC and now i get VERY little sound from my sub. I talked to a car audio dealer and they said ground the LOC, so i did, and now my radio never turns off, like the key is in the ACC position all the time, even when it isn't even in the ignition. I undid the grounding and still it won't cut off. Can some one please help me out. Thanks.

I talked it over with the dealer again and they said that if they knew it was a bose system then they would have told me to go through the stock amp or rear speakers. But my remote wire is connected to the 7.5amp ACC fuse. Yes i used the DIY diagrams on here. My radio didn't stay on until i tried to ground the LOC. And honestly, i couldn't tell you what brand LOC it is. i am about to unhook it and try through the rear speakers. I connected the wires to the left and right rear speaker wires behind the HU and i think that may be the problem. Any suggestions? Hope that helps. who knows, this is my first time wiring my entire system myself so i probably did screw it up somehow. I will let you know if it works. thanks again.

OK i got the radio to finally cut off. I disconnected the LOC and the radio would still stay on. So then when i saw abbid ask where i had the remote located i removed it from the 7.5 ACC fuse and the radio stays off until the key is actually turned to the ACC position.
Now, if i can't locate the remote there, where should i connect it?

I have the same amp running out of my Bose. Wire the LOC out of the speaker side of the bose amplifier. Do not ground the LOC it is not needed. Does your LOC have adjustment levels or not. The Sony amp has enough power and adjustment level to compensate for low initial sound. What is happening to you is weird. Did you get the right wires from the Bose amp. The only thing I come up with is that you are reverse feeding the head unit with the sony amp power hook ups. Again, wierd!!!!

i don't know either. i did what the audio dealer told me and just spliced into the rear speakers. as of now, i don't have power from the battery so i need to reconnect it and see how it works. and no my LOC does not have adjustment levels. i will find out later tuesday if it all works. i just don't know how the amp is reverse feeding. if anyone out there has any idea of what i can do to fix it, i am all ears.

Ok, my radio doesn't cut on by itself anymore, so that is a good sign. BUT, i still am not getting hardly any sound from my sub. I just tapped into the rear speakers directly and very little sound comes out. Is i absolutely necessary to go directly to the bose amp or what? what has worked best for any of you? SpearRX8, how did you hook yours up, since you have the same amp. I could use any bit of advice right now. I am even considering getting a car audio shop to wire it up so i do get enough sound.

Tigerfootball, Here it goes. Good luck!!!!

Output of the Bose:
black wire with blue line to + left side of LOC in
White wire with Blue line to - left side of LOC in
Purple wire to - right side of LOC in
Pink wire to + right side of LOC in
" Do not ground the grounding leads of the LOC (if you have them)". Do not!!!!!
-Remote from the second cig lighter
-Ground from inside the trunk. Ground is important so please find a good place that has no paint.
-Main power from the battery.

Now lets move to the sub connection. Is your amp the XM-D500X ? I hve the older version. I am assuming that you are connecting the sub to the right terminals. It is only one sub right?. So it needs to be bridged to the amp. It should tell you where in the manual. Is it 2 Ohms or 4 Ohms. I have a different sub.

One more thing. Where is your level set at. Maybe it is too low. There is a level adjustment and also a bass boost adjustment on this amp. See if this also has a factor in your low sound.

yes i have a brand new XM-D500X. i got it all hooked up now, i just had to have a car audio dealer work with it. it is tapped into the rear speakers. Now, my question is, what should my settings be on my amp as far as bass boost, Low Pass Filter Hz, and gain? I just want to know what would probably sound best with the bose system ya know. thanks.

Tiger, I am glad that all your issues are over. To tune it, is a matter of preference. It took me a while to get it to the sound that I was happy with and did not over power the Bose system. Try at mid level for the input level. You want to use the LPF because you are only using subs and not full range speakers with the Sony. And lastly adjust the boost until you achive the bass you want. I like solid punch and not a boomy bass so mine is about mid way as well. Good luck!!!
