Newbie amp and sub install and dc inverter
Hey all ,
I am planning to install a amp , subwoofer , and dc inverter in my car in the next couple of days. I have almost no electronic skills and have never installed an amp or subwoofer. Do you guys think I should bring it to a pro and have them install it ? Or do you think I can handle it? Also I have a DC inverter that I want to install , I think I mite have to drill through the firewall because it requires 12 V power and I think I am going to hook it up to the battery ? Anyways any help on either of these subjects will be appreciated. Thanks in advance !

I think you should take it to a pro if you can afford it. If not, or if you REALLY want the satisfaction of doing it yourself, make sure you search around and find some sample installs to base yours on....there are considerations about running power, ground etc, where to put fuses and circuit breakers, stuff you won't think about on your own. Best to do it right the first time rather than have to rip it out and start over later.

It's easy to run the cableing yourself.. It's probably more difficult to spec the right equipment and tune it. Especially if you don't know what they sound like, and what power levels you are looking for.
Don't drill there's a couple places where you can tap through the firewall. Under the existing wiring harness, and through a rubber grommet behind the water filler bottle. THere should be plenty of examples on the forum.
