Yeah I will ask the engineer next week for you guys. See how the update can be pushed out.

Maybe they can send you guys the cable with a paid return envelope. So you just send the cable back after your update.
That would be the best thing. The other option would be cross-shipping an updated axxess box while we send our old axxess box back in. I couldn't imagine being without the front panel piece. This is my DD and I don't want to have a big hole in my dash and no tunes for a couple of weeks, lol.

That would be pretty cool. Hopefully we can get something going with this. Thanks.

Oh interesting. So you called up metra and they said "ok we'll fix this" and sent you the cable? Sounds good. Hopefully they'll do that in all cases.

I can identify two issues with the 1.1 update:
1) Random small parts of the LCD still glitch every couple seconds. This happens intermittently and is really random. But it is worse from 1.0.

2) The time now runs fast. Mine about +5min per week or more.

And yes J Owens is in the same boat as me.

No not yet. They have not asked for it either. Maybe after all issues are ironed out.

Also J Owens is in norcal.. maybe someone around you needs an update?

Hmmm... all of these problems is making wonder if I should just wait a while before ordering mine. Hopefully once all the bugs are out, they'll ship the kits out bug-free.

well, one would have hoped for that in the first place, rather than them using their customers as bug testers. But guess what, nothing ever comes out bug free anymore. Just look at the HUs that people are putting into their cars now. They have to release constant firmware updates to fix bugs that supposedly shouldn't have been there on release either.
nothing is ever bug free. There is just a certain amount of bugs people are able to live with and once we get to that point they quit fixing them.

uh... just the Pioneer F-series. The 1500 headunits I've used/installed prior to them never had firmware updates.

ok my display just wigged out today, and I had to turn the power off and on several times to get it to fix itself. The temperature is displaying the wrong value though :/
Looks like rollerblades was right - it will happen eventually no matter what. I better contact metra before my AC starts acting up.

If they want the box back tell them to send you the replacement first because you can't go a week without HVAC. And tell them to include a shipping label in the box for the warranty return.

The issue with initial product can be fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting your battery negative terminal.

And you should not have to pay for shipping to send it to them. Even if it is like $6 they should still pay the shipping both ways. Demand that they do.

other brands do though. Like mine for instance has several firmware updates to fix bugs.

cross shipping should definitely be the way to do this. In the middle of winter you don't want to go without heat!

Yes, this is true. Unfortunately it only lasts for a couple of days before it starts to act up again. At least that's what mine did.
