The US uses the odd-numbered channels - 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, whereas the European one uses the even-numbered ones as well - 88.1, 88.2, 88.3, 88.4, 88.5

I have a Japanese version car and i need to replace my oem FM tuner radio with a US version.
Do you mean that the US version will not go 88.2 88.4 88.6 ? it jumps .2 each time? please clarify because i am about to confirm order.

That is correct. The US radio stations use odd number, i.e. 93.7, 94.5, 97.1.. so most of the radios are programmed not to go to the even number stations..

(BTW holy thread resurrection..)
