Key Blank

Does anyone know or could you tell me where I can find instructions on how to remove a cut retractable key from the key fob? and also how to install a blank key? I searched threads, but didn't have any luck. There is this guy selling fobs for the retractable key on ebay, and I'm curious. If I take new fob to dealer can they wipe out all existing codes and code it to my car? Thanks.....

You need to purchase a new key blank either here or at your dealer, get it cut at your local locksmith and replace the already cut key. Then, it's easy to register the new key and remote provided you do have already two working keys. Look in the DIY section for instructions on registering.

The cut key can be easily detached from the fob by using a small flathead screwdriver - all you have to do is to push on a small tab. Use a flashlight and you'll see what needs to be done.

You will need to get hair pin and on the side of the key there is opening you need to push. You don't wipe out any code, you add the new key. The dealer won't do that for free, you should really read the diy for it.

Yeah...I don't have two keys, only one. I know I need to take the new one to my dealer and have it programmed to my car. I am assuming old codes will be erased.
