Help on Footwell Lights

I have them on my car wired to the parking lights with a switch and it works fine, but I'm wiring a set to my buddy's car and he wants them wired to the courtesy lights.

I have searched and all I come up with is that it is a blue and red wire. I have tried multiple red and blue wires under the dash (there are quite a few of them) they all light the lights but when we check for them to fade away with the courtesy lights the stay on forever. I have even checked RotaryRasps Footwell lamps thread.

I was thinking of trying to tap that green and black wire next but I thought I would ask here before I start splicing again.

Help! Pics would help too. Frustrated.

I see where I went wrong, I was grounded to the chassis and not to the green and black wire which worked fine for my set up but not the courtesy light set up.

Thank you for the picture JsW! I'll buy you a beer next time your in Vegas!

It is on the driver's side and the angle is with your head underneath the dash looking up toward the console/steering wheel.

It is underneath the the dash closest to your side view mirror.

I have done this on three cars and I have found multiple red/blue and dark green/black wires in different bundles. You want the bundle coming from the door. Hope this helps.
