It really depends on what you want to make it out of. Fiberglass, MDF or a combination of the two.

Then you have to decide where you want it to be in the trunk, Under the rear deck, off to the side or just anywhere that will fit it.

Consider the trunk opening is a little over 13 inches with the plastic piece removed so one side can't be wider than 13 inches or you won't be able to get it in the trunk.

ask and you shall recieve.

check out mine. its a 12" L7. you can get the box off ebay. the shipping is very fast. i got mine in less than a week. they are actually down in FL somewhere so you may be able to pick it up. plenty of room for the sub and it sounds really good. you kinda have to be creative putting it in. you have to put the box in empty first and then mount the sub when its in the trunk.

if you want to see anymore pics just let me know.

it was $155 shipped.

it fits the trunk shape perfectly. you might have a hard time making one this nice. here's another pic before i built my amp rack that shows the sides a little more.

I made one like that! It was before I knew about the zenclosures though. Really nice box, for two 10s. I always got compliments, people didn't think that I made it myself.

Anyways, it is going to be hard for anyone to make a box like that if it is your first time. You can probably make it for cheaper, but for 150 bucks, it is hard to beat. I think I spent about 75 dollars on mine. This included the carpet, terminal cups, wood, wood glue, carpet adhesive, wood screws and some sandpaper.

If you really want to make it yourself, I suggest looking at the "DIY: Custom Subwoofer Enclosure, Pics and Plans". I used those plans as a basis, and just modified the front to cover everything. I used some carboard to transfer the pattern of the sides of the trunk to the wood. You don't even need to carpet the whole thing because no one will ever see the back of it.

The Zen enclosure is solid as a rock and fits like a glove. Yeah maybe you COULD make it yourself a LITTLE cheaper. But the small amount of money saved is not worth my time out there dicking around hoping I can get it to fit as nice as the Zen. Buy it and be done with it.

I think he means this stuff nuke:

Make a box out of that like it was wood. Then wrap it in fiberglass for structure and rigidity.

Don't know how well it works, but I guess with the proper amount of fiberglass layers then the insulation doesn't really do anything but give you the shape.

yeah thats the stuff the resin sticks to it great and you can shape it really easily...does create a bit of a pink mess lol. vacuums up just as easy though. really helpfull for those of us who suck at cad (meeee!) hahah

yeah I threw on:

1. resin
2. cloth
3. resin
4. light coat of resin and sanded.

yeah thats the stuff... my oldest bro does siding so i chose that cause it was free lol. home depot or loews has it in many thicknesses and sizes ... all very very cheep. anyone can make cool shapes out of it.
