I would would want the piano black so powder coating is the only option that will look close. Just wondering how this will change price. In the end, will this actually be less expensive than the corksport? My only complaint (besides price) with the corksport is that the 2din opening is too wide and requires side bezels. I think it takes away from the clean finish I am looking for.

I'm new to this thread, and this forum, so this may have already been answered, but is there going to be a single DIN option? All I have heard about is double. Also, with this kit what will happen to the LED screen up top? With the radio and track info and A/C info and such (Ambient Temp)? Will that go away, or be utilized somehow? I dont care about the radio and track info, but keeping the ambient temp and A/C displays would be nice.

BTW, I love what you're doing, I got my eight in March and was heartbroken when I learned that there weren't any aftermarket dash kits for it! I wasn't even aware of the Corksport kit until I read this thread, but I'm waiting for this one. Keep up the good work!

been over a month since devil or coswell posted here...seems like the idea is dead. Could it be cause theres talks of a Metra kit?

 

Don't get me confused...I am not involved in the creation of the product. I was just throwing ideas out there for him. I have talked to him once via PM...I have no more information than you guys at this point. Wish I did though...never been a fan of the quality of Metra kits.

 

It's not just talk, that kit is confirmed as coming out in 2-3 months. I would like to see this one released as well, the more choices we have the better.

rx8scpowell the second week of June has come and gone without an update. I understand this is a big job to undertake but there is plenty of interest, we just need an update. Some of us are holding our breath on this and just need an occasional status report.
The head unit I have been waiting for has finally been released but I still don't know what is going on with the dashboard mount.

Please, please, please, can you give us an update so we can make informed decisions.
