electrical problem

I came home to the battery being dead. I let it charge over night, now i go to start the car and nothing happens. A weird thing is when i turn the key on the gauges all go to full then back down again. The starter doesn't click either. nothing. It never did that before. Nothing works on acc, no lights, nothing. If i take a wire and connect it from the neg. terminal to the terminal closer to the front of the main fuze box the lights will work I didn't try to start the car. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone have a schematic of the wiring going form the battery to the fuze box? When i plug in my access port nothing happens so i dont think the ecu is getting power.

thanks

Check the two fuses marked 'engine' in the front box.

Also check the 'room' fuse in the footwell box.

Good luck....
