ebay aux adapter...crap, or no?

as the title reads... i dont have much experience with the different adapters (yes i have read and searched so i already know a bit), but i never found anything about this one/this kind of adapter. does it seem like it would work well? i have the factory 6 disk bose unit in my 04'.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
i dont need a fancy unit... for the price its not bad.

That's an FM modulator, and all FM modulators are crap. If you need aux-in, get a Sylfex Auxmod or any other solution discussed here on the forum.

It's an FM modulator. But I believe you're thinking of an FM TRANSMITTER Tamas. All transmitters suck ***. The modulators are far and above better. Still nothing like the many integration adapters we have available to us, but certainly not the worst. I would agree with the recommendation of the AuxMod for your 04. Touch more money, but worth it. A majority of the other adapters will not work with your 04. You can check your headunit firmware to be sure. If you're above 9.55, then I'd say get the Audiolink. Still more money, but keeps the iPod charged and allows for steering wheel control use. Automatically turns on/off with the car too.

I have XCarLink (Similar to Audiolink) for cheap. Works like a charm!

xcarlink is the new version of the audiolink. Just couldn't think of the new name.

AuxMod. Better sound quality than anything dealing with frequency modulation.

Actually, I did mean the modulator. Transmitters suck to such an extent that I don't even consider them as an alternative
Modulators are certainly much better but are still limited to the radio's sound quality under the best circumstances, and if the moduilator itself is not very good, they won't even reach the FM quality.
I would much rather pay 60 bucks for an AuxMod and have good quality sound than $30 for a modulator. But if someone is happy with the FM radio's sound quality, a good modulator may work for them.
